VX Ace to MV Converter

    nah, you don't need to do that.

    Go to line 841 and change this:

    map_data += '"autoplayBgs":' + map.autoplay_bgs.to_s + ','to this:

    map_data += '"autoplayBgs":' + (map.autoplay_bgs ? 'true' : 'false') + ','Hopefully that'll be enough.

    i still get the error of line 841!

    map_data += '"battleback1Name":"' + map.battleback1_name + '",'any fix for this line?

    Hey, I am getting an error message when I try to do a test game that it "Failed to load GameFont."  It's likely because of some incompatability with my old VXA project, but I'm not sure what I am supposed to update/wipe out in order to get past this.

    Thanks for any help.

    EDIT-- Please disregard.  Must have bungled something because I wiped out the font file and I fixed it.  I'm sure it was my own doing.  Thanks anyway and thanks for the converter.

    After finding the script, there is another question.

    I haven't worked with scripts yet, so I don't know how to implement it in the vx ace.

    I have the script downloaded, but dunno what to do next with the files.

    Thanks Shaz for the converter but it seems I'm having a bit of problems. I converted everything and copied everything over. The game plays like normal but when I enter certain areas it gives me errors like this. A prompt reply would be much appreciated!

    That's saying it's looking for a graphic that isn't there.  Did you copy over all of your resources?  Can you recopy the Actor5.png file?

    Okay, I had a weird thing happen, I was getting an error on line 1281 where it said "expecting $end"  and I tried all sorts of different things but nothing really changed, then I just cleared out the code and reentered it below all my other code and it just suddenly worked o_O so idk what changed really.

    Script 'AceMVConverter' line 10: NameError occurred

    uninitialized constant DEGICA::CONVERT::DataManager

    I tried to check the forums but didn't find a fix to my problem. I converted my VX Ace to MV and I know a few things are not in MV. But when I start a playtest, it comes up a black screen. No music or error code. I noticed some of the NPC's images are not in MV that where in Ace.

    Did you copy all the resources across?  The converter only converts what's in the Data folder.  You have to do the rest,

    Not sure if this was reported before, but the script doesn't convert animations properly when they have rotated sprites. Apparently, when you change the angle of an image in the animation, VX Ace rotates it counter-clockwise, while MV rotates it clockwise...

    Can anyone help?

    Shaz, I did get it to work. It will take some time to get it all done. I forgot how much I had in the old file. I may just take elements that worked and use them in a new fresh game. Thank you.

    Looks like I'll be finishing my lazily-delayed-for-years project with maximum possible RTP usage lol. This is actually pretty awesome for being able to make previous projects Mac compatible :D .

    Hey, I just wanna say thanks for making this tool. The fact that MV uses JSON is super convenient; I can pull apart bits of my old Ace projects and move them over to MV. :D

    You have used a script call and not replaced the command with a Javascript equivalent.

    So I ported my game from ace to mv but whenever i try to test run it. It doesn't want to work. any suggestions?

    Telling us what happens (error messages or whatever) would help to get an answer.
    But in most cases the problem is that the user forgot to replace one of the Ace script. As described from the very beginning, anything that uses script commands or scripts in Ace needs to be replaced manually for the game to work on MV.
