(VXace) Battle error (Tankentai battle)

    Hello everyone! I'm having a problem with an error during battles in my game x((

    This errors here:

    They pop up everytime a character of mine is poisoned and has low HP (Hp below 5) while I try to use an item (any item). As soon as I enter the item I wish to use, one of those errors pop up x((

    Please help, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. x((

    Both of those errors are saying the object BattleManager.actor.input doesn't exist. BattleManager.actor exists, but not BattleManager.actor.input

    You've got two different battle system scripts there, as well as a script for state animations. MOG_ATB seems to do a fair bit with BattleManager.actor so I'd try to disable that one first and see if the problem still happens. It could be an incompatibility between scripts (so if the problem stops when you disable that one, re-enable it and disable the Tankentai one and try again - if it doesn't happen when either of those are disabled but only when they're both enabled, it's a compatibility issue - try swapping their order).

    Hello @Shaz Thank you so much for your response. Hmm, I tried disabling either of the scripts and the error no longer showed up. The weird part was that, I decided I love both the battle systems together in my game, so I played around with it while they're both active. I simply changed the Mog ATB's ATB type in the settings to 2 (Full active) and it no longer showed the error x(( It was so strange but I'm still not going complacent about it because as you've said, there must be some kind of compatibility issues. Hmm, I wonder what happened there?

    And how can I make both battle systems work together in harmony? X(

    EDIT:

    Hmm, it showed up again xPP It's very inconsistent x((, it shows up, sometimes it doesn't. :( So I guess both battle systems are indeed incompatible? But is there a way that I can make it so that they'll work together well? X(((

    It's not a surprise that they're incompatible. They're trying to do different things with the same resources. It's likely that they're overwriting stuff rather than aliasing.

    Are you SURE that disabling either script stops the error? You did say it's inconsistent, so just because you didn't get the error once when a script was disabled doesn't mean the problem is gone. Disable one, then play long enough that you can be confident it's fixed the problem. Then enable that script again and disable the other and do the same. Make sure you play long enough to give it a chance to show up.

    Did you try swapping their order in the script list?

    If that doesn't work, you're going to need someone to make a compatibility patch. Unfortunately battle systems are complicated scripts, so you may be waiting a while for someone to help you with that (it's not something I would be interested in doing or would have time to do).

    Hmm!! I'll try play longer after I disable each script individually :) And yeah, I tried swapping their order in the list, but still to no avail. x((

    Btw, I fully understand that you or any other scripters are not obliged to fix this deep incompatibility issue. As I can fully understand how time consuming this is. But thank you so much, nonethless for diagnosing my problem. :)

    Okay, I have now stopped using the tankentai and MOG atb all together in my project. x(( I just noticed that there's too much risk going on with them, no matter how much I loved em x( I am now going to start digging for some battle scripts with lesser compatibility issues. :)
