If you can't find it, you can request it in the proper forum section.

Make sure you follow the request rules:

You should remove the link to the Pop Message addon for Yanfly's Ace Message system. A critical file needed to use it is no longer available (dropbox 404 and all that jazz), making it literally useless.

I like the fact that there are scripts already out for use on VX Ace but I'm the kinda guy that likes to create my own stuff. Where can I go, that I can read up on ruby scripting so that I can get started building my own scripts?

you have to search the web (or this site, the question has been asked several times) for "learn ruby programming"

Because what we call scripting in RM is a full programming language, you can't learn that easily unless you already know how to program in another language.

If you're a beginner without previous knowledge on programming, consider a minimum of two or three months to learn ruby (depending on available time)

I'm posting to report that as of right now, most (if not all) of Victor Sant's scripts posted on his official blog are not available due to his Dropbox account being disabled, Much like with Yanfly's stuffs. It happened a few days ago.

So, I would appreciate if someone can update the master script list and link his scripts to another source for the time being, because I need one of his script at the moment.

The script I need right now is VE - Pixel Movement - version 1.10. If anyone has it, I would be very grateful if you can share it with me.

Links are susceptible to "link rot" -- sites go down and that's it, you lose access to scripts.

Instead of a sticky forum post, why don't we learn from the Maven/RubyGems/NuGet world and just have a central repository with the actual script itself archived? This way, you can always access it, and you have a single location where you know you can get the most recent version.

I created a GitHub repo already for this (for my own use), but I think this is really something we need for the community. GitHub is great, because anyone can submit a change (new/updated script); you don't need a central person maintaining the list of scripts

    (Repo link: https://github.com/ashes999/rpg-maker-resources)

What do you think about this?

Because there are several scripters that do not want that for different reasons.
Some scripters for example provide their scripts through adfly-links, so they get a few cent for the advertisements displayed when downloading them.

Others simply do not want to loose control of their scripts and host them on their own homepages because of that.

What loss of control do you mean?

Developers of scripts (or more generically, reusable code) are the key controllers of their code when they switch from self-hosted to centralized repositories. The primary beneficiary is the end-user, who gets:

    1) A place where links don't go down, leaving them with no scripts

    2) A place where they know this is the latest and greatest version of this script

If some scripters don't wan't that, that's up to them. Overall, I see the RPG Maker community suffering from this, and the solution is well-known (and used by multiple programming languages to solve exactly these problems).  Why not apply it here, too?

Really? It's an "old" engine now and this thread is nearly 7 years old. It's the OP's fault that scripters have taken down their scripts? Would you prefer NO list at all and have to manually search for things?
