So I've added a church into my game and there's a piano in it. (Of course there is...when isn't there a piano in a church in an RPG game?) and I have it so that when you hit the action button on the piano it plays a M.E at 150% pitch (All it did for this song was speed it up) and I'm wondering one question.

So the M.E was 4:20 long (Minutes:Seconds) and the pitch was set to 150%.

So I'm wondering how many frames in the wait command to use to make it so that either a second before or a second afterwards when the M.E ends an NPC walks over to you and talks with you.

If this has confused someone. Basically I need the math behind the pitch.

So a 4:20 song with a 150% pitch what much shorter is it And then from that time how many frames do I make it wait before the NPC talks?

At 150% it is approximately 2 mins 52 seconds.

There are 60 frames per second.

So your wait will be however many seconds you want multiplied by 60.

But the question that is in my mind is: what is the player going to be doing for nearly 3 minutes while this track is playing?  Because if they are just sitting there, waiting until the music ends, that is not what many people would call fun.  But perhaps lots of other things are happening at the same time as the music?  If so, you will have to calculate their duration as well.

EDIT

Actually, calculating the length of the track isn't necessary.  As you are content for the NPC to walk one second after the track, have the track play, wait for 60 frames, then walk.  But as BGM is looped, you will have to arrange it so that it doesn't just carry on playing.

It is relevant as he wants the NPC to walk a second before or after the ME ends. It also won't loop as it's an ME, not a BGM.

So I'm wondering how many frames in the wait command to use to make it so that either a second before or a second afterwards when the M.E ends an NPC walks over to you and talks with you.
PS: You could always just test the game then start a real world timer on while playing the ME to ensure the exact timing. :)

Oh yes, my eye skimmed over the ME bit.  But I still think it is relevant what the player is going to be doing during this time, because if they're just twiddling their thumbs it's going to seem a lot longer than just 2:52.  I got caught once by this in a game, and I remember how irritated I was.

Yeah it will be 3 minutes of waiting time... Though if the music is good enough, it might just survive.

I have other things going on...like a bit of text and even some weird staring from the Nun beside you.

Oh and I might even have a battle going on.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
