Good day, is there a way like a common event or plugin that in a battle, after selecting "attack" and after selecting an enemy, the game will wait for key input? After the key has been pressed by the player, only then the player will attack.

Sorry for the wrong grammar.

that is not as easy as you might think, and it completely depends on the battle system.

which basically means that this is absolutely impossible in the default battle system for MV.
Because by default the MV engine first asks for all selection (from both actors and enemies, even if the enemies are handled internally), then sorts the actions according to speed and agility before executing the fastest action.

so basically between selecting the enemy target and executing the attack there are dozens of other actions, no way to add a wait there.

Please describe what battlesystem you're using and which plugins, then we might be able to help.

I am currently using Yanfly's ATB, the Battle Engine Core and Action Sequence 1 - 3 and here are the others:

What I was planning was an ATB system where if the player choose "attack", the character can chain basic attacks or skills during its turn depending on the number of TP it has using certain keys like W, A, S and D. I am also planning to somehow add a timer that checks if the player did not input any keys, that character's turn will end.

Is it not possible without a plugin? Currently I cannot afford to buy the other plugins to use for my planned battle system.

No, I don't see how it's possible without a plugin, unless you ditch the default battle system and recreate one entirely using events - which is going to take way more time and effort than it would to save up for a few plugins.

The good news is that there are, in fact, plugins to do this.

Yeah, this plugin will work according to what I see in its wiki page.

Sadly I cannot buy it, I am currently unemployed as of now.

Is there a free plugin like this though if may I ask?

Thank you @Andar and @ATT_Turan . Because of your answers, I realized I need to re-plan my battle system according to the free resources I have and will have, until I have the money to buy the plugins needed to for my original battle system plan.

Thank you again, I really appreciate it.

I learned a lot about screwdrivers today while trying and failing to remove the hard drive from an old computer I intend to turn in for disposal. I really hate that there are so many different sizes of screws and none of my screwdrivers are the right size. This would make for an evil mini-game in a modern/futuristic RPG.
Should I make a new Twitter, or is it just this bad now? I didn't pay attention to it for like 3 years. And now my new posts have extremely low views compared to my old tweets. Or did I really get that much momentum from releasing my game and then drop it? :hswt:
Started moving house today. Putting everything in boxes. Listening to Mac DeMarco's new album. Feelin' groovy.
It's finally in a packageable state. You can play start to end, half-a-minute ordeal. I just need to fix some minor bugs and it's golden.
I'm so excited for this.
