I know that with the classic Pokemon games there were parts where the player could walk behind a building and I was wondering if I could have my character walk behind a building?
I plan on making tall buildings and it would be awkward for the player to go all the way around when he/she she go right behind it
Is there a way to set some tiles to be above the characters?

Just go into the tile editor and change the roof tiles to a star instead of an x, just make sure you dont over do it so hes walkin behind walls lol

* = over the player
X = player can't walk on it
O = player can walk over top of it

Only Upper tiles can be set to star
A tiles are ground tiles and cannot be set to star, because something needs to cover the basic ground.

I've been working furiously on a small demo slice. But with King Slime so busy assets have been slow to form. No matter! I've got the demo for rpgmaker MZ and I'm using the 20 days to make a short and sweet demo game of fighting alongside your rival/boyfriend hehe Kind of like a mini challenge to myself
Yes my images are back ^^, hopefully they won't disappear again.:kaoangry:
It's Sunday. Stop working and take a break. Relax a little.
Ooops ended up trying out making my own A2 tile page instead of testing doors everywhere. Went well so far I think.
