Warp mare is a game about facing your deamons. in a game you are playing a teenager with reacuring nightmares, trying to defeat his deamons in the dream world. Make your way trough the labirint, find the essence and focus power onto yourself to slay the monster that has been hunting you. When you walk trough the corridors in your dream, you can determine what kind or room/space you are going to enter by the doors you are going trough, but the exact place the door lead to is randomised, so you will never know what exactly what room you are going to enter.

As you are in the dream world there are a lot of diferent art styles of maps in the game. The monsters you wil encounter are going to scale with you and so will their drop, but the deamon (final boos) hunting you will get stronger with time you spend in the dream world regardles of your level. You can use both Dream and Shadow esence to enhance your imagination, but using Shadow esence while giving a greater boost will also speed up the growth of your deamon. The deamon also holds multiple forms with diferent stats so there will be segnificant diferences betwen the fights even on the same level.

The game still encourages using tactics, since you cam maximize your chances of geting what you want by chosing the right door to go trough, using the right staircase, chosing what spells to learn first or simply what weapon to chose. Once per game you can also find a "Binding Scroll", that will let you capture an enemy, and bind it as your familiar. Every familliar also has its unike stats and bonuses so chose wisely.

The levels of all characters and monsters are limited, wich means the deamon(boss) will also stop getting stronger at some point, so using Shodow Essence to boost your stats sounds like a walid strategy. On the other hand you might try to speed run trough the game and fight the deamon as soon as it emerges. It is up to you. And the evening habits you do before you go to bad can actually effect how many rooms you can go trough before the deamon wakes up.

this game looks really weird, rtp, to pixel, rtp in pixel.
I have no idea why mixing though, but I', going to play
a bit how it packs together :p

this is probably 1 of the most weirdest game look I ever seen :D

EDIT:
I play it and there is a game breaking level with a tiny maze with bookcases.
that closes, when you get past them, it closes, when on top, both sides closes
if you try to get the crystal (whatever they are for), and you basicly get stuck
on the top one.

as at teh red devil room 256 I think, if remember is correct, are 2 demons walking
on the walls.

the mapping for most is a bit on the bad side, as there is not much info
on what you exactly have to do.

what are the crystals for, what purpose do they have etc?
3 battles on the first map, they hit you with 0 or miss, even
every turn both starts on 0.

where to get dream essence? totally no direction of what you need to do,
except by wandering around.

it might not played out nicely or tested enough, otherwise, the game breaking
part shouldn't be there (it can happen by dev's if they forgot something) or they
did something to soon (small oversight).

but without any info, just wandering around and hope you dont get stuck.

Keep in mind, I dont give players bad hopes on this games, but if you could
improve it somehow, somewhere to make it more couraging to keep playing,
do so, but for now, I dont continue though =)

keep up the good work further, and hopefully, you do improve it and test it
a bit more, or beta testers to get most bugs/game-breaking parts out.

The reason I used different tipes of tails is to represent diversity of a dream world where you can go anywhere you can imagine.

As far as the crystals go they are the Essence. The green crystals will give you a Dream Essence, and the purple ones give you the Shadow Essence.
Dream Essence can only be obtained by picking up crystals, while the Shadow Essence can also be obtained by killing monsters.

I wanted to give players sort of a "open world" experience, where the main goal is to defeat your deamon, and you can go about it anyway you want, so here is the door distribution:
-Big Gate: lead to the eather Cosmic level where you can get the equipment, or Shadow level where you can pemanenty increse your stats.
-Blue Door: lead to the betlefield, in this zones you can fight monsters to level yourself up and grind on the Shadow Essence.
-Red Door: lead into safe zones where you can pick up Dream Essence wihout any fear of being attacked. They also provide you with healing circles so you can regenerate.
-Wooden Door: are sort of the combination of Red and Blue doors. There you can fight monsters as well as pick up both Shadow and Dream Essence from the crystals.
So you can go safe picking up Dream Essence crystals and max out your weapons, max your Lv on monsters and use Shadow Essence for permanent stat increases, or do any combination of both. It is entirely up to you.

I fixed everything you pointed out and testplay the game again to see if anything else is wrong. I also put switches containing the game info in every room and coridor. I hope the instructions are clearer now, I realise that me playing the game is different than someone who is not familiar with the project playing it.

I just uploaded the fixed version on itch.io.

Found a critical bug the other day with the time system that would have caused none of the NPCs to spawn. Since I use dev mode to test time-based stuff, I didn't catch this for way too long!
