Hi everyone, new to RPG maker, first post on the forums, terrible sorry if this is the wrong board.

My question is if it's possible to have WASD movement with Yanfly's button common events plugin, so yeah basically the title. I guess the problem is that with BCE the W key is known as an essential key that can't be remapped. (I Could very well be misunderstanding that, please correct me) I would compromise and just use the good ol' arrow keys for movement, but my game will really utilize the WASD and mouse, often using both at the same time.

What I'm saying is, I can't really compromise here. Is there a way for me to just brute force the inner-workings of the engine to make this happen? (I am a terrible noob with JS but I'm willing to do anything to do this)

I've used every WASD movement plugin with BCE, to no avail. Funnily enough, the ASD keys work but W is binded to something else I guess. So my character is incapable of moving up. I'm 99% sure the problem is BCE because when I turn it off WASD movement works fine.

So in conclusion, can anyone help me here? I would appreciate it so so much. PS: Been lurking for a while and I can't tell you how helpful reading posts from this forum. If this has been answered already I apologize, I spent an hour scrounging through posts on here but didn't find much on the topic. Thanks guys.

Hi you,

Did you have a look to the following plugin ?

Hi! Sorry for late reply. I found that plugin and it's so close to being what I need, but I couldn't find a way to make WASD movement the default option that the game starts with. Is there any way I can do this with that plugin?

I managed to do this with WASD but there is a noticeable lag. I use Common Events that are called by a Yanfly plugin (probably Keyboard Config). It's not better than UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT keys on keyboard that are already mapped for movement. The lag with Yanfly plugin is just bad.

Hi Hex. It's good to see you back. You know, you didn't do anything wrong. That guy WAS being rude-you were RIGHT-and he continues to be rude and condescending in his posts. I know you went through a lot of trauma with being bullied. I honestly think you were just trying to protect other people so they wouldn't go through what you had to go through. I actually think that was quite noble of you to be honest.

Now I just have to finish the other 37 frames. for the first dialogue... oh lord, what have I done :LZSlol:

Has anyone watched the movie "Tiny Toons: How I Spent My Summer Vacation"? It is a cartoon and it is freaking hilarious. We watched that movie so many times when our kids were growing up. Thankfully it has a lot of adult humor to keep the adults entertained that the kids don't really get.
