Water Lily-boat in a not "Overworld" tileset

Hi guys, I need help in eventing a "Water Lily" to act as a boat for this particular map I am making.


So far, what I have done is make the 1st event have a 2nd page that contains a switch condition which will make it "Move toward Player" and make it "Repeat" itself. The player and the Lily pad are also in "through" mode".


2nd event is to "Off" the 1st event and make the player get off the Lily pad.


3rd event is to "On" the 1st event and make the player jump on on the lily pad.


Now there's 2 problems I cannot solve for 2 straight days now.


1st is that until I get off the pad, I'm always in through mode with the Lily I'm riding.


2nd is, the Lily always follow me even in the moment that I get off it.


You guys any idea what should I do?

Why don't you just make it a vehicle?  Create a character sheet with just the water lily in all 12 cells, save it with $! at the start of the name, and set that to your 'boat' vehicle.



If you are already using a boat on another map, you can use the Change Vehicle Image command to swap this one in when you arrive on the map, and out again when you leave the map.


If you want the player's sprite to be on it, make the character sheet look like that.  If you have several actors who could be leading the party at the time, make one version for each, then use a parallel process event to see if the vehicle is being driven and who the leader is, and use the Change Vehicle Image command to change it to the correct one.  And of course if the vehicle is not being driven, change it back to the default (with no actor).

Im also thinking about using the ship, but what if im going to use it in the overworld map? How will I set it so that the ship in the Lily map stays where I left it, and the ship in the overworld map stays where I left it too?


Is it doable through eventing?

Second page of the Event Commands, near the top, Set Vehicle Locations.
Coupled with Change Vehicle Image in the bottom of the third page, and setting the two locations through variables, I think you can do it, yes.

Use variables to record the map id, x and y positions when the player exits the vehicle - one set for the boat, and another set for the lily.  Then when they enter the appropriate map, have a parallel process event change the vehicle's image and move it to the appropriate coordinates based on the correct variables, and after that make it erase itself.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
