hi, does anyone know of a beach tileset which also has crashing waves? I am fine with the default beach tiles, but if anyone knows of ways to make waves that would be good too. Also it doesn’t have to be “crashing” waves maybe just gentle lapping waves into a beach.

Thanks!

Maybe look at how XP did it, as the sea in that beach set lapped more than any subsequent engine has managed to.

That's because XP did animation differently. VX/Ace/MV all use a ping pong back and forth animation, 1232123. But waves don't do that, coming in looks very different than going out. So if you switch it to 123123 or 12341234, the motion looks much more natural. That means you have to event the animation sequence. It also means that you could probably get the default tiles to look much more natural by changing the animation order.

Which tiles would you be using for the rest of the game? Which engine? If you're using MV defaults suggesting 32x32 pixel art tiles won't be much help.

Well, it looks like the waves in FF6 have at least 8 animation frames in my opinion (Correct me if I'm wrong). It's not easy to create it.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
