Weapon Enchantments

Hey!

I was wondering if it was possible to "enchant' weapons with the power of an element to make that specific element stronger. The way I want this to work is the player can buy a scroll of some sort from a shop and use it on a weapon they have and enchant that weapon. I want these items to make only the attacks done by one element to be stronger like if I were to enhance fire on a sword, I only want the upgrade for fire elements not for any other attacks, plus I want to degrade the opposite element, like making ice attacks weaker in this case.

Is this possible? Sorry if this is obvious, I'm fairly new to RPG maker.
