Weapon icon appearing on the back of the character (only when he is facing up)

Im not sure if this is simple or not, but could someone make a script that renders the weapon icon (of the weapon that is currently equipped) on the back of the character when its facing up? I dont need it to appear sideways or in the front, only when its facing up.

Something like this:

It would be nice if we could make some adjustments like the position of the image and the scale (something like 0.5 scale for some weapons that are smaller).
If its possible and not too time-consuming, it would be nice to be able to render the weapons of some followers

But rendering it on the hero is more than enough to me, thanks in advance!!

One option is to make a copy of your sprite with the weapon drawn on it and change it with move route whenever you equip it/select it via common event..

The script Roninator2 mentioned seems promising! i would love to test it myself and i will.
sadly, it's not in English, but anyway, the translator will do the work somehow.. if someone could help us by telling us what to do it would be nice :)

The problem is that i need to have a separate image file for each weapon. I was wondering if it was possible to get the weapon icon to show. I mean, getting the index position of the icon of the weapon that is currently equipped and render it on top of the character sprite when he is facing upwards.

But until someone know that one script (if there is any or maybe make it happen) and tell us, Roninator2's mentioned script is awesome! i translated it and i managed to get it to work!

If anyone is interesting, i am gonna tell some instructions

  • Crop (with photoshop or any image editor program) the weapon or armor, from the icons, that you want to show on your player whenever it equips it.
  • Then open (again with photoshop or any image editor program) your player's sprite and you put on (on a different layer) the weapon/armor icon.
  • Delete the player's sprite layer and keep the image's proportions and the weapon/armor drawing.
  • Place it on the "Characters" folder.
  • Inside your project, open the database window and find the category your wanted weapon/armor is on.
  • Find the Weapon/Armor you want and on the note window paste <Graphic = filename> (where "filename" is put the image's name you just made and puted on Characters folder).
  • Go in the script and change or keep the script's switch number.
  • Go on an event and call the script to be on.
  • Then on the same event or other, give the option to give to the player the wanted Weapon/armor.
  • There it is when it will be equipped it will show on player.


@athosfranco Here's your showing weapon in case you want to use it on the script.. it will give you an idea on what to do for other items..
