Introduction
Weekly Art Challenge is a recurring event for the Art, Literature and Music forum wherein there is a new challenge for artists every week. The goal of the event is to encourage art and going outside the box by imposing interesting challenges and limitations. After a week, a poll will be up for everyone to vote to select the best entry. The winner with the most votes will receive a pretty little badge for bragging rights.

Also, please be sure to check out the previous challenge's thread.

 Rules

  • A new challenge/theme will be posted up in a new thread every week.
  • Participants are to follow the rules imposed by the challenge/theme. Any questions may be asked. However, I reserve the right to disqualify any entries that I feel do not meet the criterion.
  • A challenge lasts for approximately a week. Deadline for all Weekly Challenges is strictly at 12:00AM, GMT +0, on Monday.
  • Multiple entries are allowed, and each will be voted separately. The final score will be the total amount of votes all of the entries get.
  • On the week after, a poll will be up in the same thread. Only one participant will win. In the case where there are more than one participant with equal votes, all winners will be rewarded.
  • Poll for voting will be available from the submission deadline to Saturday, when the winner will be announced.
  • The winner gets to call the theme/challenge for the following week. If the winner does not wish to do so, then I will come up with one.
  • All forms of art are welcome.
  • No need to register. Just start working on your entry right away if you've decided to participate.
  • Post your entries in this thread. WIPs are encouraged, but please explicitly specify your final submission.
  • There is absolutely no measurements coming from us on the completion of a piece. Whether a piece is complete for final submission or not, is entirely your own call. So don't be discouraged if you think you can only afford to doodle a couple lines. Anything is fine.
  • Entries must be done completely from scratch by their respective participants. This means no pre-existing stock materials are allowed, regardless of the degree to which they have been altered. Whoever is caught intentionally violating this rule will be subject to the punishment stated in our Forum Rules regarding Credit Theft.
  • Entries must be done within the week after the challenge has been issued. No previously done work is allowed. Entries violating this rule may be automatically disqualified without prior notice.

  • Deadline: 12:00AM (GMT +0) on Monday, June 23rd, 2014.
  • Poll for voting will be available from the submission deadline to Saturday, July 5th, 2014.
  • Any questions may be asked here.
  • All forms of art are welcome.
  • Post your entries in this thread. WIPs are encouraged, but please explicitly specify your final submission.
And that is it. Have fun!

The art is in the pun? (It's huge, so spoiler.)

I ain't winnin' any awards, but it's been too long since I've been in one of these, and I'm sure one of you needs a laugh.

Things I wanted to say about it but didn't but now am:

"If you wanted the hype train, that was two stations over.""Good gravy!"

Look at how adorable that lil' conductor/train runner is!

I have no idea how to draw gravy, or trains.

I could've put more work into this, but I like it this way.

There is no food, I guess. I put a gravy lake in, which is kinda food, but it's more of a brown splotch than food. I guess that counts??

Look at how good my handwriting is. LOOK.

As far as I know, gravy makes for a really poor substitute for coal, so this gravy train won't be going far.

I made this at 2:30 AM with happy Cave Story music playing in the background. Could you do better under those circumstances?

Wow, I had a lot to say. :p

Ralph and the gang savoring Ralph's delectable cooking after a long day of random encounters.

Not sure if this one's final, I might try to color it and show more of the food, heh, got carried away drawing Ralph and his poor buddies.

The semi-tragic reason I have not been able to enter this week's art challenge. I keep eating all my entries!

This is not an entry -- this is a visualization as to why there is no entry.

Credit to Pac-Man, Celiana, Enterbrain, RTP -- and NO credit to Weight-Watchers!

Never done one of these and I wanted a little break from Ashworth so I whipped up a food entry:

More of a test, messing around with color filters and such, but I suppose this is the final version since I don't want to use up any more time on it right now :)

@theadellie - I really like your sketch of the food, particularly the little mouse absconding with something in the corner :)  Do you plan on coloring it or anything?

@PVGames: Thanks, and no I don't plan on colouring it.

Your render looks great by the way.  :thumbsup-left:

Even Evil Overlords have to eat.

Sometimes they even like funny straws.

@PVGames: Somehow the picture won't show the original size for me when I click on the thumbnail. Would you mind uploading it somewhere else?

I see some threads pinned in the Useful Development Tools section. I wonder, what are the criteria to get a thread pinned?
Playing some Kingdom come: Deliverance. It's an interesting game... But for the first time ever I'm disappointed with Czech in a Czech game.
Anyone else find themselves skipping through spoken dialogue in games if they've finished reading said dialogue in the textbox? I do. Happens more often in JRPGs with me. I frequently finish reading the dialogue long before the VA is done speaking.
I've been pretty busy working on my Might and Magic inspired project. I've got the code for instructors in place, and I just finished up with the trap and resistance tests. The project is going very smoothly. I'm also learning more about Javascript which is helping out a lot. Arrays, they are your best friend!
