So I decided to start earlier, and started scratching out some concepts.  A lot of which I thought were pretty good and creative, but it'd take much too long to translate the image from my head to my art... :(

Therefore, I went with the traditional Grim Reaper guy... But at the end of the process, I'll try to add a unique spin to it.

Here's my concept sketch thus far:

Marimo - I really like that.  I like the watercolor look to it.

I really didn't want to participate this week because of time. But looking at (listening to in one case) everyone's entries so far felt really inspiring and so I accidentally spent five hours painting today. :blink: <3

My submission's a little concept sketch painting thing. A scene with a lot of foreshadowing, because that monster of course is going to be a pretty tough boss fight later on.

Little warning because giant insectoid legs.

I know what you mean I keep looking through at everyone's submissions because they are so inspiring and all really different, I feel like there's something to take and learn from every one of them!

That concept is really amazing, and I love the lighting on the giant guy/insect. Very mysterious and makes me want to know more about what's going on here!

@Neverward: Oooo. I really like the surreal feel going there. * w * And I've always loved the bright pink + black color combinations so <3

@mlogan: Aww thank you so much! Sadly as I progressed with the painting, I'm afraid a lot of the watercolor-y look is gone. ;w;

@Chiara: * _ * That looks awesome, I love your work on the environment!

@Neverward: Thank you. <3
I have to admit that at first I was tempted to go for a purple/green colour scheme since it looks so pretty in your submission (but went with another almost complementary colour scheme in the end).

@marimo: Thank you, environments are fun (as they don't require anatomy) so I'm happy you like it. :)

I haven't give much thought about this challenge, because what is considered a formidable enemy is very subjective, even a slime can be a formidable enemy from someone's point of view. Then after seeing Chaos Avian artwork submission, I have to agree that the most formidable enemy is actually yourselves, you need to defeat and make term with yourselves before you can defeat other person/enemies/whatever. So here's my submission, some sort of doppelganger staring from the darkness, before you set out towards the light. Sorry for the lazy background though. :guffaw:

I gave this topic a lot of thought, I agree on the point of self being a formidable opponent . Due to the fact that has been taken I decided to go another route and think of another. A physical enemy can be formidable, but I thought what if an opponent who could control the mind. Now that would be a struggle both mentally and physically exhausting. He is the pied piper, one who could lead the minds of mice and children.

@CorneredCosmos I love the idea, but the picture itself seems a little dark and blurry. Must be the coke-filled pies that piper is feeding you. Other than that, I approve.

@Makio-Kuta LOL, that picture is genius. I feel it is lacking in Ralph, though.

@numfanklewhat I really like that. That doppelganger looks pretty depressed, which is actually a cool idea.

@Neverward Hers is the paint that will color the heavens.

@Chiara What's worse than spiders? Spider mechs, of course. Great job, except for one little thing: those people in the corner should be all like, "NOPENOPENOPENOPE" but are instead like "Giant mech spider? Mmmmmeh. I've seen worse. Hey, did I turn off the iron?" But that's my only qualm, it really is a fantastic entry.

You guys are all so artsy. I feel like a kindergartener with crayons compared to you guys. >_> #Sarcasticjealousy

The poll is now up guys, and will stay open until Monday, February the 10th.

Thanks you guys so much for participating. We have a total of 16 entries this time around, which is pretty high. I love seeing your art.

Personally, Chiara's entry totally won me over, so I'm casting a vote for her, and also a personal shout-out.

Ok, I just realized that you can vote for more than one submission when the poll comes up.  This makes my voting in future challenges a little easier with the many contributing artists that I see on here.  Good job everyone!

Never realized that either, and now my vote has been cast - with soooo much agonizing - it's too late.  Ah well.

TFW: You get a text from someone and a long conversation--but you have no idea who this person is and don't wanna be that guy that asks "Who is this by the way?" I have no clue who this person is... but they seem to know me quite well. :rswt
You know, after all these years of using RM I've never played To The Moon. With being busy with life and then after my mom died I was too emotionally fragile to play something that heavy. Has anyone played the Switch version? Is there any big differences between that and the RM version?
Today I finished my Lets Play. Gonna have the videos scheduled for daily uploads now. Woo I finished something ^^
