Hello!

I have downloaded the trial version of RPG Maker XP

but it refuses to work...

I get the message

"Cannot run with less than 1024 x 768 resolution"

But I am using a 32 inches monitor at 1080p!

Any ideas why this happens?

Please state the exact resolution of your monitor as set in the windows display options.

There are several modern widescreen-monitors that have less than 768 height even if they are a lot more in width.

whcih windows are you using?

In the case of Win7 or Win8, what is the display percentage for zooming (needs to be 100%, but sometimes Windows sets it to 125%)

hmm...I think it has to do with my DPI settings(I have them on High),

I set the program to  disable high DPI, and now it works!

But now there is another weird problem

when I make a new project a warning window pops up and says

"Failed to copy folder"

I'm running the program with administrator privileges....

That is a known quirk - the default folder for XP projects is the program folder, and that's a restricted folder where no one should save data in the later windows versions.
You need to select a different folder to crreate new projects manually, best one is probably "my documents"

I see.

Is there any way to make it work with high DPI settings though?

No, because a high DPI makes windows act as if you had a lower resolution.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
