It's been quite some time since I've been here or used RPG Maker. I just opened up an old Ace project a few days ago and have regained interest now that life has started to slow down.

I hate change. I hate the idea of my 22.6gb collection of Ace resources being worthless. I'm assuming a lot of them would be compatible with MV or convertable at least. I know RGSS3 (or knew it... Still a lot easier to pick up again rather than learn JS).

Back to the point, and what should have been the only thing I typed to begin with, are people still using Ace? Of course they are... People still use XP... What I mean is, are there scripters and resource makers still using Ace and creating content or have the masses moved on to MV? I'd like to get back into this, but don't see much of a point in doing it during an awkward transitional phase.

I think a majority of people have moved on to MV, and it will only grow larger with time - but for now, there are still a ton of people using Ace.  I spend 80% of my RPG Making time in Ace because I have two large projects that I'm working on in it; a lot of people are in that same boat and others still haven't made the jump because of the cost (MV still hasn't been available at deep discount).

Any resources you share now would still have the potential to be put to a lot of good use.  And a game that you make in Ace, if it's good, will still find every bit as much of the audience that it would have found before MV.

Alright, great to know! I guess I can get to work without fear of my projects being worthless when/if finished. Thank you.

From what I have seen, people will always have a preferred system.

If you are a canucks fan, you are a canucks fan.

If you are an XP guy, you prefer xp

if you are a metal head, country music won't do it for you.

It's all about preference, each RM has it's own positives and negatives it just depends on what you are trying to accomplish and what kinds of features you can and can't do without.

Most resources can be converted, but they are coming out with amazing stuff everyday for MV.

Just keep doing what you are doing but keep an eye for the features you are waiting for and what ever else :)

I hope this helps

If it matters, when I hit up google for RPGMaker stuffs, RMMV, is not what I usually find. I find a lot more for ace, or even xp, lol. The biggest amount of things I found for MV was legit, Yanfly's Plugins. THANK GOD.

Regardless of a move, does it matter? I think Ace looks hella good, and I should've bought it cause it was cheaper, but I'm new at this, and I figured newer = easier. LOL

Don't forget, aspiring writers: Personality isn't what your characters do, it is WHY they do it.
Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
