I'm still working on my project.. The same one I've been working on for a year now. I may just scrap the mapping and start it over again.

Bleh, I'm building my database item and armor set. So far I've managed to make some great boss battles and enemies from the stock list. They are indeed technical and dangerous, even for my super juiced character, who of course only comes after considerable effort by player.

Different suits to try:

Would you pick a suit that mains in status ailments/buffs/debuffs for dealing out damage?  Would you go for speed or would you be a tank? Lots to choose from, 7 in all ;)

I am currently downloading battler graphics and uploading them to have more customized monsters for my game while I wait for some people on deviant art to finish some 1 off monsters for boss battles.

I am also adding pixel sets into the game and making towns.

Still making battlers - for the main character of my side project. I like pixel arting so it's fun. ^^

I just wish I had good tiles to make a plain or something similar. Not only that, I'm still having trouble thinking of interesting mechanics or quirks for my side project. Hmmmm..

I am currently working on adding some bosses and some weapons.

Last few days I have done literally no adding of maps, just strictly monster and weapon making.

Working on Illuminated Badassery 3.

Coming along very nicely so far. I'm planning on making it the best entry in the series; gonna cut off all the fat from the first two entries and just make things simple, fun and interesting. Not that I wasn't impressed with how I did 2, but I'm aware of the flaws here and there.

I'm planning on making the game 640x480 so full-screen players can get the most out of it; rearranging all the windows and whatnot so far has been quite easy (though I had a bit of trouble with the shop windows; but I've done what I could with those, so I'm not going to spend much more time with them).

I'm also going the extra step and using XAS Hero VX, which is working remarkably nicely with my ideas. The most prominent change I'm making is the removal of the Portal in place of mission-based gameplay to coincide with how the plot ended in 2 (not gonna spoil that of course, you'll have to play that in order to know what I'm talking about); I'm planning on adding about 30-50 missions in to make it long enough. Also, NG+ is making a return; yaaaayy.

I'll reveal more stuff once I get a thread up and running; I think I've said enough already, lol :p  (though I might post some screenies for those that're interested in my progress!)

Currently working on the story of my project. This is the second time I've revised it almost from scratch, yet I still get to dead ends. I lack the inspiration and the ideas where to derive the next scenes but it'll probably come to me soon enough.

When I'm not writing the story, I usually jump to the scripts and do some experiments in altering the screens.

The Forest of Eratru holds a dark secret, one forgotten by all but a few long ago. The Necromancer, evil incarnate, was imprisoned deep within the remote island forest, locked away from the world.

Now, thousands of years later, the seals held in place by the Immortal Sages are weakening, and evil will flow forth once more, unless a young priestess can stop it.

---

Now, that's about as detailed as I've got with the overarching plot. Characters and whatnot, though, I have down. The main three, Markus (yes Markus. No, it's not self-serving, even though he is somewhat like me. That's not the point-Markus is not my real name, it's just a name I like), Kara, and Alfred (your three party members), the Old Man, Bob, and the Necromancer. I'm also working on adding in sort of a Leftenant to the Necromancer, who is going to play an integral part in getting Alfred to join your party.

Markus: Markus is a well-traveled adventurer, he's been many places and seen many things. He's prone to drink, and enjoys the company of beautiful women. He's a man of high moral convictions though, and will (almost) always do what is right, even to the point of harm to himself. He starts off in the "Hidden Village" having traveled there from parts unknown. He lives in a tent in the north west corner of town, very near some strange ruins...

Kara: Kara is a young priestess in service of the Goddess of Light, defender of Eratru, and the one who sealed the Necromancer away in the first place. Kara is very strong in her faith, but has trouble with her vows of celibacy, being quite an attractive young lady. She is quite fond of rugged men, and longs to go on an adventure. According to the Old Man, she is the ONLY one who can stop the Necromancer. (As strange as it sounds, though, Kara is NOT the main character; that would be Markus)

Alfred: Alfred is actually the least developed character I have. Even Bob, a one-off homage character to a previous project, has more depth than this guy. All I rightly know about him is he's hot headed, a monk, and has a vendetta against the Necromancer for killing his family (that's where the Leftenant comes in, I do believe). He has questionable morals, to the point of almost an amorality. This will end up putting him at odds with Markus as the story goes on.

The Old Man: The Old Man is a very minor character, but without him, the main quest couldn't even start. Within the first few minutes of the game, you find out he is the last of the Immortal Sages, and despite the fact he will not die of age, the seal is failing because of him. You'll find out more about that as the story goes on, just haven't worked out the kinks yet.

Bob: Bob is an homage character. I threw him in the game initially as an Easter Egg for my sister, but he's grown into a fairly important minor character in his own right. Bob was once a king, a mighty king with lands and power and money. But someone stole his gold, and the Game Designer never finished his game, so he never regained his money and power. He is stuck in the Hidden Village for the rest of forever, because of the incompetence of the Game Designer (that'd be me, by the way-and yes, he breaks the 4th wall). He teaches Kara the attack "Holy Light," which is (if I can actually program it as such) the only thing that can kill the Necromancer once and for all.

The Necromancer: EVIL INCARNATE. LIKE SATAN, HITLER, ANDREW JACKSON, AND THOMAS EDISON (may his name be spoken with scorn) ALL ROLLED INTO ONE.

The issue I'm running into is, I'm on VX Ace Lite, and it's got SERIOUS limitations.  For instance, I didn't know when I started that I'd have a 10 event limit per map, as well as a 20 map limit.

So now I'm reworking the whole idea, as I have 8 maps left to get everything done in-and I'll be DAMNED if I'm going to delete all the maps for the starting town-as much work as I've put into them!  No no, I'll work around it somehow.

I have to be honest-I did use two of the premade maps that come with it, just because they were close to what I was going for anyway.

Thoughts?

Oh, yes!

And by giving wonderful to see.

Will it take long to finish? Became very curious now, I intend to

make some tactical project someday, but I do not want anything complicated

other.

Unfortunately I will not bring it here, because it is in Portuguese...  :(

I'm working for my one and only Casia (v3 in the makes), an open-world game where you as Casia basically choose all courses of action and explore the world freely, encountering enemies along the way.

That's my wife's favorite style of RPG, very Shining Force.  I look forward to seeing where this goes, and knowing now that it's possible to make that kind of game with VX Ace, maybe my wife'll show more interest in it! ;)

I'm doing something I said I would never do: I've begun work on a 2nd game.

But... I'm kind of cheating. I'm making a parallel gate that takes place in the same world as my 1st game, it uses all the same systems, and all the same resources. (It also takes place at exactly the same time with some overlap in characters.) This game should take significantly less time to make since all of the monotonous work and world building has already been completed. Put all of this together, and this is probably the only scenario there would have to be to ever want to make another (non-commercial) game.

They just take so much work & time to make for something that is never going to make me any money.

edit: I just started an Early Project Development thread for this project here: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/13144-undeniably-sexy-a-paladins-quest/

I've begun work on a game called Fantasyche, and have launched a new kickstarter in order to cover costs of artwork in particular. It is set both in the real world and a fantasy realm, and follows a character called Mike. Mike often escapes to this fantasy realm, which he believes he has fabricated in his own mind, in order to escape reality and avoid real-life issues.

There's a link to it in my signature. If it sounds like it might float your boat, check it out :)

Apart from testing the current six hour+ long ERD, I'm toying with more game ideas for future projects. Either I'll end up doing a sequel to Enelysion that takes place some 400 years in the future or I'll do a turn-based strategy RPG that will sort of be a love letter/tribute to the earlier Fire Emblem games ( like the ones that were released between 1996 and 2003 ). But it will not be a fan game. Research time. ^^

I always told my DA fans how much I hate slot machines. They're fine in games as a risk-and-reward system. But when you're spending REAL MONEY in a Vegas casino to try and hit the jackpot (which very, very few people will), it can really hurt your budget. Gambling is a bad habit, and I don't like wasting my money on a slim chance. Go to Vegas for the experience, not the jackpot.
Took the kids to a corn maze. They gave us a map and had lights at certain points in the maze. Not overwhelming... or underwhelming... just... whelming.
