Currently doing voice overs for characters in my game "Destiny of a Wizard" once that's finished I have few more enemies to take care of and map refinements.  My project is almost completed!

Introduction with Voice Overs added:

Project development post can be found here:  http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/19332-destiny-of-a-wizard/

I am working hard on map refinements and a few other minor details such as music etc, afterwards I am going to have a few friends play test it to find any remaining hiccups in the game itself.

Any comments and such are welcomed

Going quietly distraught!  The game was due for release yesterday, so encrypted on Friday and that was when it became apparent that one major script was screwed up by the encryption process.  That's now sorted (the permanently wonderful Shaz) but I decided that it had to be play tested again, just to be completely sure, and it looks like another one is the same.  Waiting for a reply from the scripter and just carrying on with the play test.  It won't be released before the New Year now.  Better finding it now rather than after release, but it looks like a lot of play testing over the holiday period.

Finding an elegant solution to make eventing with Move Routes work together with a free movement ("pixel" movement) script I'm working on. It's a doozy!

I also really need to implement a timestep solution to make sure you don't get the old "if the FPS is low, movement is slower" problem. That happens right now, and is uncool.

@Ultimacj, very cool, but I suggest a few revisions to the narration.

The part about sacrificing Wizards has a lot of terms that make the narration sound a bit weird.

For an example: "The Wizards sealed him away. The only way he could be brought back is by sacrificing a WizardBy sacrificing a Wizard, their power could be used to release the powers of darkness."

It sounds a bit repetitious, so it might be a good move to find a different way of saying it, plus the later sentence feels unnecessary, because it's pretty much a different way of saying what it just said.

Also: "The Wizards sealed him away." feels too short, I suggest revising the statement so that it carries on into the next.

In regards to the narration, nicely done. ^_^

@Chaos17, the map is looking pretty awesome. ^_^

If your making a parallax map, then I suggest going all out with the shadows, using blur and smudge tools when necessary.

@ksjp17, don't wait on the scripter. Post it in the Script Support section, with a link to the script, and see if others can help you. That was a really easy fix once Hime chimed in, so if the other is the same, it should be just as easy.

Getting close to finishing Chapter One of my first demo game. That will conclude the tutorial I've been working on, but the game itself will still need 2 or 3 chapters to be complete. This means it'll be a while before I'm ready to move on to the more fun stuff, but it's good practice anyway. I don't like half-assing things.

Thanks.

I think I've never used those tools to make my shadows, do you have any examples of the result ?

Anyway, I will work on the lights and shadows when I will finish my whole map XD

My first actual attempt at a dungeon. I let the random generator make the base and then filled in the blank space it didn't use.

Here's what I've got for my first dungeon so far:

It's supposed to be a ruined shrine.

Just make sure you turn the encounter rate up (add more steps) or players  will feel like they are fighting every two steps!

Had some free time today so I did a couple of '90s'-like movie poster mock-ups for Dim.  Lots of cheese in them but I don't think they came out too bad.

Here's the one I think came out the best (I only spent some 30-50 minutes on it so its pretty rough):

Makes me wonder if I should make an actual poster for Dim and make it the game's "box art" as well.

(Enterbrain is not actually presenting Dim and it's not being published by Degica in case there's confusion :p )

Joining the party in the RP together. I just have one more character (the main's squire) to bring in and then the team is complete for epic exploring!

Working on getting better at art. Art is hard. :( Many sad faces come when it's time for me to draw. However, I would like for my game, Empty Possibilities, to have original faces if at all possible. Speaking of that, I am also working on Empty Possibilities, the game I would like to have original art for. One of the things that I will never, EVER do again is make a story split off into three parts, to have it join back into a linear plot later. It makes debugging a nightmare. Also you have to write more dialogue. BUT, the demo will hopefully be done soon.

@Chaos17 I really, really like that map. It's nice to hear someone's improving their mapping.

I'm trying to make an entry into RMN's Game Chill 2013. It's going to be heavily based on the game Motherload. The game takes place in a town above a deep icy dungeon. You buy upgrades for stuff like ice shields, pickaxes and flamethrowers to mine deeper into the ice. There will be monsters that you must dodge, and a freeze meter that you must keep an eye on. If the freeze shield meter goes to 0%, then your HP will start reducing and you gotta get out of the dungeon quick! The more you upgrade your freeze shield, the lower you can go.

Dungeons will be similar to The Binding of Isaac. Not randomly generated, but very squarish, and the exits to the room will close once you've entered them. Then the exits will not open until you have mined the single ore that is in the room. Once you have mined that single ore, all the monsters moving about in the room will vanish. So it's a dungeon crawler combined with a dodge game combined with a resource-gathering and crafting game. You mine the ore in each room, and your success depends on your pickaxe. For example, a wooden pickaxe will have trouble mining Ultimatium ore, but a Ultimate pickaxe should mine bronze ore just fine.

There will also be puzzle elements in the game. Mostly simple ones, like the obligatory ice-sliding puzzle that you must have in a winter dungeon.

The town above the ice dungeon will have a re-fuelling station, a tools station, the pawn shop, the mayor's office, and the bar. The re-fuelling station sells flamethrower fuel and refills your HP. The tools station provides upgrades and repairs for all of your tools: pickaxe, ice shields, flamethrowers. The pawn shop is where you sell ores for money. The mayor's office is where you can talk to the mayor to see what to do. There will be people in the court that will give you quests. The bar is the place owned by local drug dealer Mike who you can also work for. But not all is as it seems.

The story is that this place never used to be overrun with snow. But all of a sudden, about 100 years ago, it started to snow for s reason unknown to the town. The mayor has declared no citizen go into the dungeon, but only lets you in because you have an International Permit of Adventuring (an IPA). The barman tells you that at the very bottom of the dungeon, at the bottom of the 10 floors, there lies the Secret to Christmas. It was supposedly what caused the entire town to become snowy.

That's about it. Hope it works out (fingers crossed).

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
