I got a hate on for Bevel and Emboss, so I don't personally think it belongs anywhere haha THAT ASIDE Whether or not it could work on a title screen really depends on the look of your title screen. Like, perhaps you could use a Bevel and Emboss if you had the logo looking like it was set into a stone carving (though personally I would do the shading by hand over using bevel and emboss) But yeah, it's just going to depend on the type of title screen you have.

But as a stand alone logo, I would certainly go without it. Take some time to look at some logos around you, you'll notice they tend to be very clean and simple. It's more memorable this way.

@ipei: Very nice! I really love your reptilian monsters. Like that cute snake and the little one breathing fire near the end of the list. :>

More updates to the logo.  Ideally in the game/title screen I'll be having a black background.  For sites with white like these forums and facebook, I also made a clear look.

@Makio: Thank you very much! I want to get better at drawing.

@B.Ultimus: I prefer black background cause it makes it more game like.

Ah yeah, that looks positively smashing on black now. Might want to give it a bit more punch for the transparent one though. a thicker outline or something. Some of the details get lost on a light background for some reason (prob 'cause you have that nice black underlay inside the logo, it begs to have that extended outside of it a bit as well). But yesss, that's looking a lot better all around now. :D Nice~

Here we go, with more outline :)   I think we are approaching (if not already) the final release of the logo.

This weekend has been quite eventful:

Started a facebook page for my rpg maker game: Ideally I'll start a post here on the forums for it as well, but I'd like to make more progress first.

Also finished making/editing a sprite based off of one of Thalzon's monsters.

Working on our rpg's script. We're still in the story planning stage. We won't touch the graphics aspect until we've finished all non-art related aspect.

It's an experiment because my partner and i have been procrastinating numerous projects already. Tackling tasks one chunk at a time really helped.

Worked out some fixes for a few niggling issues and did a bit of rebalancing. I think Legend of Gladius is pretty close now to what I was aiming for with it.

With about 14 hours of game play time done, (that's how long it takes me, so I suppose at least a couple of hours more for the player) I discover a mega problem caused by one of my scripts.

I've had to redo several maps and have now started a whole new play test where I'm going to have to test to destruction all aspects before I can feel confident about moving on.  Not what I had hoped to be doing just now.

Ew, that sucks D:

I'm still trying to figure a good balance in battles. Am stuck because it seems like the party just wipes them monsters right off the map in short order even at levels 2~3. And I'm terrified to mess with the default damage formula because I suck at variables and math and don't want to risk exploding my game/computer JUST yet :\

And also promising myself that I'll get back to mapping by later today and stop fiddling with battles, tutorials, and other crap that are not getting me any closer to that sweet, sweet final map... XD

Currently tinkering around with the battle log to make the skill cast display seem more unique and fitting. So far I'm happy with the results.

After much deliberation I've taken up my original game again! I thought that it would be better to just make a lot of small games, but I'd feel bad about leaving this one unfinished >_<; Plus I've had a literal dream about it for the past two days so I think I won't be able to sleep unless I start working on it again.

My biggest challenge moving forward will be variables and switches in relation to events. My game is cutscene heavy, and ideally has multiple endings, so... yeah. >_> ;

I'm not sure about how wise it is, but I'm taking the same path as you. After some practice with the system ,and planning smaller games, I came to the conclusion I just must work on my big project... it's too much in my head, and I know that with enough effort it will be possible :) it's simply daunting. I'm sure you can do yours as well, just don't let things discourage you and above all, DON'T LOSE MOTIVATION.

Yeah I also have many cutscenes, perhaps there are good cutscene scripts out there? :) worth looking into anyway.

I thought I'd post a preview of the coloring style I finally settled on using for my portraits. (Look familiar? :p ) I had a much more detailed, realistic coloring style going on before I decided it didn't fit the simplicity of my tiles.

This is a pair for my game. Cyclops and the girl who only goes by 'R' at the moment haha, in their team uniforms.

I thought I'd share some of the stuff I'm working on, and this is the most tricky part too considering the restriction in vx ace default map layering. I'm currently making a visible underwater object for animated sea tile. Obviously it's still WIP and I'm planning to make as many coral reefs variation as possible for the fishes. Maybe it will be finished around this weekend, hopefully. :guffaw:

@Neverward: Ah that shading style looks so good with your art~ I love the look of them. Especially the first girl there; she's a mega cutie. I think you'll probably come to thank yourself for going with a simpler style when you start to do all those busts you had previewed before. Keeping things simple is really the best when you have something you're going to be doing a lot of. Especially if it is quick for you and still looks nice for the player; which is totally the case here.

@numfanklewhat: Every time I see screenshots for your game I can't help but smile. The art style is so charming! and that little hub with the sun on it~ I don't know. I just really love seeing it a lot. Best of luck with this underwater endeavour. It looks really neat so far! It'll be cool to see how it looks when you're done. :)

I've just been hacking away at various little art assets. Icons, mouse icons, cutscene artwork, sprites, etc, etc, etc.

Got some of Hansel and Gretel's skill icons finished.

And whateves, just because it is super cute. and super WIP. <3

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
