@LuZi, - Wow, that's awesome!

I love the that all the weapons are glowing, they look like lightsabers in high fantasy form.  :D
You should also check out Riviera: The Promised Land. The Diviners are pretty much like it and they're awesome to look at XD

Here is a live preview of what I have right now.

The left bar across from names is player HP| MP

*Not sure if I like that spot for the digits.

Thinking about turning the very top bars into the area for enemy display HP/MP.

@Kyuukon: The perspective looks good, but unless there's a reason for showing the whole thing ( like part of your screen transfer is showing the character walking up the stairs, ala old-school Resident Evil ) then it's not worth the extra effort, I think :<

Maybe have only the bottom piece of the spiral showing?

Half of the joy with these kinds of graphics is hiding exploiting the fact that the perspective is about 2/3rds top-down XD

@Kyuukon

I like the fact that you are putting in angled walls but I don't think it quite works with your present setup.  I know from my own experience that it is a pain making tiles where they can join a straight wall while maintaining their angle, but the result is much better than your present solution of having the straight wall jut out beyond the angled ones.

I think you're right, I'm gonna have to cut that stair top >.<

I removed the angled bottom-left wall.

It's indeed a pain to make them 'fit'... I'll see what I can do to make it look better. I have something on mind.

Thanks, both of you xD

EDIT: After a few hours of consideration and PS (mostly PS xD):

Started a little side project last week, now that my main one's put on hold and most of my free time is eaten up by life. Time-hungry little beast.
Currently figuring out colour concepts for the different areas before I start with tileset edits.

Colours aren't my strong point, so feedback would be appreciated. Don't mind the wonky perspective, though. Spent only one hour on these things.

@Kyuukon - much better.  Still a little bit awkward, but you could probably get away with it.  The player may just think that the straight wall provides a slight recess for the angled one.

@Chiara I like them, except for top row, middle, but that's because I could never live with a wall that sort of green, though I do like green for walls in general.

My own posts in this thread have mainly been along the lines of "I'm editing/making tiles" and guess what?  This one is no exception.  It flows from my decision that every town had to look distinctive and a second one that I would try and do them in the editor to keep file bloat down, and then a third that as some of these towns would be big, I couldn't afford to have lots of events to do the awkward bits.  As I intend to have lots of overlapping houses in this one, it's been a nightmare making the tiles.  Here is my test house so far.  Opinions?

Edit

A slightly more complete version

I'm surprised that there are so many talented people here. Are some of you professional designers?

I am actually working on an indie horror game in Ace, and I'm trying to get it on greenlight. The only problem is finding commercial free scripts, I have found limited amounts of them. Currently looking for a commercial free full screen script.

The game is called The Darkness Ascends, and will have the idea of certain decisions in the game will affect the outcome of the ending. Kinda like the Stanley parable.

I do hope it's a really good game... Greenlight has been bombarded with lots of not so nice (bad) RM games, so the crowd there is a bit anti-RM games... good luck...

I just finished a full play through of my game from start to finish and now getting out the 47 bugs I found.  Only 3 of those were game breakers which have been fixed right away!  The other "bugs" are simple misspellings, words being cut off, sound effects (missing or out of place) and some conditional branches that weren't correct if you choose a female instead of a male (basically dialog wasn't correct).

Should take me a few hours afterwards the final step and that's map refinements once map refinements are done I'll post some of the new screen shots in the forum page of the developers section of Destiny of a Wizard.

Afterwards it just needs to be beta tested from start to finish by other players and if that works out well, the game will be completed!

Cheers.

I love the art work I'm seeing here.  I wish I had that talent.  Great job!

Omg I can't believe it, It's all there, and still readable by the program, I'm so happy, you don't know.

Right now you'r wondering WTF is he babbling about.  Well yeas ago, I was part of a game project, and became such a big part of the development of such, that I became the 2nd Admin incharge. Now during this time, I made two be all, end all maps(one city, and one cave. no joke, I had to make a  5 page readme file for this cave, It's no joke. The project fell through through(and Coder), due to the head Admin dropping the project

I thought I double backed up the files on a SD card, but no(thus figured it was gone for good), and the CDs they were on was slightly damaged. Nevermind the fact the Byond, the engine the game was designed with, had 2 "major" updates since this game was being developed.

Well I find the CDs this stuff was on, manage to get it off the CDs np. Then I DL Byond, expecting It's probally completely incompatible at this point, well no, evidently none of the code revolving around mapping was changed, and it still identifies the files as Byond Files.

It's not parts of it either, It's "all" here, the game code, every resource, the map editer that I coded still works perfectly, I have full access to all my stuff, and ect

I'm so gonna be working on making the resources for it compatible with RPG Maker. The hardest thing is gonna be the tiles, it doesn't use tilesets as you all know it, the tiles are individually defined, and the code puts the tiles together into a list in the map editor for you to select them(aka so there is no tileset picture, there's a folder with dozens/scratch that, thousands of individual pictures, each picture being its own tile). I'm gonna have to combine them into a single pic.

I just checked, and there's some awesome news, they are 32x32 already, so atleast I wont need to resize them as well, just combine them :)

After I get that done(all those resourses will take forever, probally a fewmonths or so atleast, so I'm gonna start with just the resources needed to make my maps, although that's still gonna take a couple of weeks), I'm gonna remake my maps in RPG Maker.

In the meantime though, I'm gonna take a bunch of SS of my maps, and post them in the SS thread soon :)

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
