I'm working on a system that allows an event to be picked up in-game and transferred to another location (possibly on an other map), using only eventing to do so. My brain is still working to wrap itself around the plausibility of moving an event between maps. Also, thinking on how to make a sprite of npcs carrying tiny crates. Oh...oh...oh god, my brain >-<
Keep at it :) The feeling when you accomplish something that's been hard is great. Working with rpg maker seems to provide plenty of moments like it.

Working my way through a pavement material for the 3D rendering of a battleback: it still looks far too much clean for an old abandoned temple, and the sand still is too bright...

Trying to make some pixel art busts.

Pixel art is difficult, but hopefully I'll come up with something usable one of these days.

I'm working on dialogue. Lots and lots of dialogue for all my townspeople, bachelors, and bachelorettes to say in my farming game... It's hard trying to have around 20 different characters be unique and tell interesting stories. :dizzy:

I'm finishing the battle system of my game My Peculiar Brother. It's been over a year in development now and finally I can show off some of the results. It's a combination of about 100 scripts since the default battle system didn't meet my demands. Hard work begins to pay off and I'm happy with the results.

I've been revamping the day system, trying to make the daily message compact while informative. Hoping to not overwhelm new players with unnecessary information. ^^'

This is followed by what resources you produced today... 3 Message boxes, hopefully not too much.

I've also managed to implement some sort of a character generator + permadeath system, so the citizens actually matter :)

Maybe sometime soon I'll have a demo ready.

you do a civilization game with the rpg maker engine? interesting :D
Yeah, I find myself more motivated to work when I have problems that need solving and here I just keep running into issues that keep me going ;) .

I also love citybuilders / smaller scale strategy games, thing old Sierra games like Caesar or Pharaoh or more modern stuff like Anno... sadly there aren't too many around so I decided to make one myself.

It's also got quite a lot of RPG elements (those explorers that you see on the first screen make up your party, then you choose your quests and do them for more stuff), as I like RPGs as well ;) .

Overall it may sound like quite a mess of genres, but so far it seems to work out pretty well! It's also more of a sandbox game with a light story in the background to keep you going, but it's mainly focused on making your own decisions and just building your own fantasy kingdom pretty much. Evil kingdom filled with dark magic and nasty little goblins? Check. A nice human empire? Check. Etc, etc.

So yep, civilization but on a smaller scale. :)

Tiles.

To be more precise, making a whole range of different slanted roofs out of a single straight auto tile roof.

My first serious series of drawings: busts for my game project.  WIP

Here's the third revision, the best out of them all in my opinion.
(It still feels a bit weird, I'm rather rusty after so many years of dormancy)

@Iron Croc: It looks like a super saiyajin!

Working on the battle scene for the game. It's coming along nicely, and the stats window now draw and size dynamically:

Trying to rework on some 8 bit styled tiles, most from scrap, and it's turning out to be a bit of a pain. Mostly because I am not happy with I come up with, maybe TSR forums may help out, I just seriously want these done so I can finally start making maps, and then move on to different terrain tiles, movable objects, NPC sprites, Playable character sprites, overworld sprites, like animals, monsters, torches, chests, doors, etc. And then finally moving on to larger sprites for enemies, bosses, faces for NPCs, and battle effects.

I may have to recruit another artist, a musician, and a scripter to help out.

Making all the artwork for an RPG is a huge task, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't done something similar before. Most people who try it have absolutely no idea what they're getting themselves into and burn out before they get started on the demo. It might be better to start with existing art and expand on it, give yourself a little less work. Or instead of starting with tiles start with the character faces and things that absolutely should be custom then do the stuff that would be nice to have but not necessary (like tiles) last.

This is why I'm sticking to just busts. :)

Working on some custom tiles. I eventually plan to make a full tileset along with custom sprite bases. I've already made a short project with almost entirely custom GFX, so hopefully I won't burn out when tackling this 10-15 hour long behemoth.

Plugging away at my prospective story. Investigating the "principle of immersion" and how to 'tell the story' more than the content.

Content is a rendering of the philosophical dispute inter Hegel and Schopenhauer, the Triune God of Christianity, and the notion of the Antediluvian civilizations. More generally, the game is about the relationship between human 'progress' and 'suffering'.

Have a lot more 'filling in' stuff to stuff the game with. Might enlist help on this project, because I'm definitely wanting an enormous plot to unfold- but one that also understanding pacing and can get moods across with an attention to narrative-economy.
