Learning Ruby, mapping, planning some mechanics:

"No, you can't just come in out of the woods and walk into the King's throneroom. Away with you, beggar!"

Got a good amount of work on Common Event Library done today, though I still have a lot more to do. I do wonder if some calls I'm worked/working on are really necessary (the switch on/off/toggle calls allows for multiple IDs and ranges to be specified).

Key:

SETTINGS: Configuration common event

*: Needs to be linked to a specific SETTINGS common event.

^: Common events that return a value.

Been spending a couple days trying to complete my intro scene.

So far it involves 2 elaborate maps and another map which is in mode7. It's definitely a challenge throwing in all the different scripts I need for my mode7 scene to work.

Just started with RPGMaker VX Ace today. Worked with the old RPGMaker in the past and it was surely fun, this looks way more serious and therefore more interesting.

At first I wanted to start with an old idea for a nice sci-fi-setting, but in the end I concluded that this would probably too much to start with. So I used another idea I had, which probably fits more into the default RPG-Setting of the maker and designed my first map. Still gotta fill it with a cinematic, though and I will probably run out of fitting characters, but hey, placeholders will do for now until I somewhat got into making my own graphics. (I also won't have to modify so much stuff which spares me time to get into the basics of the VX Ace)

working on the outline of the story of my game, since it is my first one i wanna concentrate on interesting characters that will grow on the player and putting them into a fun plot

so i wanna try without any additional resources if possible, as long as i can get around it no scripts or whatever, the major goal is just to make my first game and tell the story

After a HUGE lot of thinking I finally got myself an idea and successfully started working on it. Most of the time I'm writing for the books since I'm some kind of 100%-Person. I hate unfinished maps; Yet I can't complete everything at once and have to slowly delegate a few things here and there.

Revising old graphics, trying to bring them up to my present day standards. I'll go ahead and post my oldest (both in age and date drawn) and least favorite character, the blasphemous priest guy, just so you can gauge growth.

The work Holder has done has been a major inspiration to me, but I've yet to be able to reach that level, I'm still in first gear over here when it comes to animations. Regardless, I've decided to at least take a swing at it...

The goal behind drawing this guy wasn't even really to make anything fancy (yet), but just to get my ass in gear when it comes to "finishing" a Minkoff sheet.

If I even choose to keep this one, next step is shading each frame and setting the alpha-transparency.
This is the one thing that I've wanted to do the most, but I've been neglecting actually getting to it. Even if I have to go through 8 or 9 really simple ones before I create anything amazing, hopefully I can push myself to do the damn thing! lol
