When it comes to making your games, what kind of music do you listen to to get those creative juices flowing? Or are you more of a 'silence is golden' kind of person? It's very eclectic with me. I listen to anything to video game soundtracks to hip hop, depending on my mood. A strange staple for me has always been The Police.

oh boy.....
*pulls out playlist*

shuffle for better enjoyment

(note: this is just a tiny fraction of the music I have. These serve as samples of the *styles* I listen to, rather than specific pieces. All of these hold some significance for me, for various reasons.)

The problem with music is that it gets repetitive after awhile. I prefer to listen to either comedy specials or podcasts on YT. Listening to people talk about stuff is more intellectually stimulating than music is. But VG/Anime music has it's fair share of inspirational moments as well.

Depends.

When I need to get busywork out of the way, I put on eurobeat.

For stuff related to my cyberpunk project, I either use metal, industrial, or synthwave.

Medieval folk helps with fantasy projects.

Honestly it depends on my mood.

Battle Music tho the recent "battle music crave" is the FVII remake version of One-Winged Angel.

Mainly a mix of relaxing music and my favorite game soundtracks, depending on mood and the thing I'm working on.

I do turn them off however when I'm working on stuff that requires a lot of concentration and brainstorming, such as dialogue and scenario writing as I feel music is extremely distracting in those situations.

It depends on what I'm working on.

If I'm working on writing texts, I'm listening to some Space White Noise to concentrate.

If it's drawing, I'm listening to K-Pop or J-pop songs.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
