Hate: Pretty and emo characters, they overdo it (especially in the most recent ones).
Well not really, it targets teenagers (not only but still they trend to focus there) so they have to deal with thoughts and problems of this group.

You can do this better of course, like Persona 2 did, but I can't accuse them for being emo.

At least until FFX-2.

After that, I have no vision.

The only thing I can say I hate about FF, particularly from 7 on, is the shoddy patching of plot holes.
Final Fantasy VII - Crisis Core, such a good game.

FFXIII - Lightning Returns, I got stuck into an early boss due its gameplay makes you miss so much content that you end up in a situation you should just restart the entire game.

Who thought making player to rush to the end and then telling "you should have done those side things" was a good idea?

Crisis core was really nice. Playing Zack and making Cloud seem less... idiot than he seemed, makes you wanna play FF7 again!

Not to mention the battle on the cannon with Sephiroth... and the rest of cut scenes were EPIC! I liked it. It was a decent  game indeed.

FFXIII is above X so I will pass, until they will come back to the roots. :)

My character known as "Deaux Excimus" is kind of female Sephiroth knock-off.

That tells how much I like FFVII, the game is legendary.

I tried to get into 7, I really wanted to like it... but I can't very well. I do think it's a good game as a whole, but I did have some problems with it.

-Battle System was too slow: To be fair, this is true for about ANY Turn-based Square Soft PS1 RPG, but this game makes Chrono Cross seem as fast as Sonic. I guess another thing I should point out is that I'm playing this on my PSP, handheld rpgs tend to be faster paced than the consoles.

-Boss Battles were uncreative: It seemed there only real goal for almost all the boss battles was to have a lot of attack power and hp, you need more than that to have a fun boss.

-I hate random encounters in RPGs, but it's even worse if it's a 3D RPG... that almost made me drop Skies of Arcadia.

-Battles looked good, but I don't think it makes up for the map sprites. (And they complain that Fire Emblem Awakening characters don't have feet.) I'll take a well polished 2D game like FF6 or Chrono Trigger any day. Even for 1997 the map sprites mediocre at best.

-The dungeons were linear, anything that looks like it's worth exploring either turns out to be a trap, or just a bad render of a map that turned out to be a wall and not an opening.

I'll admit I'm being a bit critical at some points, but as someone picking up the game over 15 years after it's release, I have to say it aged poorly (and I LOVE classic gaming). It's a shame because I liked the story. The character development was good even though the characters themselves were stereotypical. But some things just kept me from enjoying the game. I may pick it up again if I'm out of games to play though, maybe it get's more fun when I move onto the later discs.

Yeah you should play further as your points are valid for early parts of the game but that is nature of RPG. Early game is like one big tutorial for the most part.

Equip cure magic for every active party member and you are good to go.

If anybody is playing or re-playing FF7 now, I really recommend using the re-translation mod (I don't have a link, but it should be quite easy to find it by Googling "beacause retranslation project").

It's incredible how much the script can be improved by a competent translation/localization.

PC version has a way better translation by default than its PSX counterpart.

Though fan translations usually are quite good as they tend to remove "censoring" that happened with SNES especially and in some cases even modify the source code so that the dialogue boxes can fit all needed text for accurate translations. Like how Magus is the Demon King who leads the Demons and the Frog character is rude like in the original version.

RMMV
And sometimes a re-translation or a fan translation are the worst thing to ever happen to a game.

Case in point...  Final Fantasy 6 on GBA.  A game with such a horrible retranslation and massive amounts of censoring that didn't exist in the original that I couldn't even get to the The Floating Continent before shutting the game off and never returning.

You want to remove Celes getting slapped around...  Okay, I'll grudgingly let you remove that.  You want to change some of the dialogue around, fine, I'll roll with you a little on that...  But you change the opera lyrics and "fix" Intangir and I'm out.  I'll go back to the more fun original that was far more emotionally moving.

Anyone playing or replaying FF7 I recommend you getting the Tifa mod Pack, it will make the game look like it was made for a PS2, better graphics in and out of battle, everything is improved.

I loved FF7, I am a fanatic about it, there is a lot of depth within the lore in FF7

What I hate about FF is that it is starting to become a movie more than a game,

Final Fantasy Manager
You manage your teams gear and spells
You watch your team fight your enemies by themselves.
No more telling them what to do during battle!

And yes they need to stop changing the game mechanics so drastically.

FFXIII is an odd beast of game. Its combat system is extremely limited (something corrected in its sequel) and it tried to be more spectacle than a game.

Idea of towns and other things that were constant until then with main FF series got thrown into trash. I get that the story is about "on the run" and saving the party from turning to fal'cie.

Still, it would have been nice to have more "breathing room" for the party, areas where they are not recognized thus they could visit in shops and stuff. Instead we get this "shop on the go" system.

Sudden difficulty spike soon as you reach that certain planet and gameplay is suddenly changed almost completely from pipes to open areas, makes one wonder why the rest of the game wasn't like that. It's the first time in that game you really have no idea where to go and it is wonderful. It is almost like different team was made to do late game stuff.

I think this belongs here. Despite his vulgar language on some parts, I couldn't stop laughing.

Was there a single person that hated the golden saucer in FF7? Yet did we ever see that again. Maybe they just don't care what the fans want...

Videogame dunkey is my hero.

And the game of the year is SUPER MARIO BROTHERS 2 for THE SEGA SUPER PLASTATION SYSTEM 64

Well, what i hate is..

Final Fantasy changes their battle system per game, example: FFX has a 3D battle system.. It sucked a lot! And then the cinematics get better each time. FFX-2 is the best part of FFX, since their dialogs is now spoken by voice actors, and then Cloud. And his buster sword! I mean come on dude, the buster sword is HUGEEEE! And then Square Enix made the Kingdom Hearts series, Mickey (i mean come on? Mickey) and almost everyone in disney was there! And then some FF characthers were there (Only famous ones like Cloud,Tidus, etc).

So now, what do you hate about Final Fantasy Series?
Is this a troll-post? Reading this made my eyes bleed.

3D battle-system? Last time I checked FF started having 3D in their battles with FF7. FFX had voice actors too, not just FFX-2, and the rest of the post.. Well, I don't even...

Personally I love the FF series (In order 7, 6, 8, 9, 10, Type-0, Crisis Core, Tactics 4, 5, 3 remake - and anything else not mentioned, not so much)). Always have, since I first started playing the games, back when I was 8 years old or so.

It's arguably one of the best rpg series out there IMO, and in general, one of the best video-game series out there.

It has its high and low points, varying from title to title, but it's generally worth a try.

What I love about FF games, is a lot.

I love that each title is a self-contained (for the most part) narrative and game, with a few common points to make the series come together and make it identifiable (Chocobos, Cid, airships etc.).

I love the characters, the stories, the epic scale of most of the adventures, and worlds being presented in the series.

For the most part, I also loved the game-play (with certain exceptions).

What do I hate? Very little, although I've had my share of knee-jerk angry reactions at the series over the years.

- At first, I hated the fact that FF8 was so different from FF7, although I learned to like a lot of the differences with time

- I hated the FF8 magic system, the GF system, the weapon system, and the limit-break system, which

makes a game I otherwise like, really frustrating to play.

- I hated the step back from the "modern-punk" style of FF7-8, to the medieval style of FF9

- I hated the way Advent Children, Crisis Core, and other FF7 spin-offs were released instead of a proper remake, and essentially ret-conned estaglished facts of the original story and butchered it completely.

- I hated the lack of a world-map in FF10

- I hated the beginning of the trend of FF spin-offs with FFX-2, regardless of whatever quality there was to the game.

- I hated FF12 for essentially being what I envisioned another Vagrant Story game to be, wrapped in a very thin FF coating, instead of being like an actual FF game.

- I hated FF13 for essentially, just being FF10 on stereoids, and having learned nothing from the complaints of the fan^base following FF10-2, and FF12.

- I hated the FF13-2 and -3 for being sub-par spin-offs following a sub-par title that was a waste of resources that could have been spent on the release of FFVerus 13, now FF15, which looks like a superior FF game in every conceivable way.

- I hate FF for having become what it has become, despite the fact that fan complaints, and the sales numbers of games like Bravely Default clearly demonstrates that there still is a huge desire for the kind of games that FF used to be, prior to the release of FF12.

That's it essentially.

Well it has its times.

It is a little sarcastic on my worst nightmare on FF7, frogs.

I laughed but warning, there is some foul language moments.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
