I like to have something playing in the background while I'm making my game but the problem is, I don't like that much music. Lately I've been using c++ tutorials in the background while developing my game. What do you guys listen to? I've been looking for podcasts to listen to but haven't found anything interesting.

Lately, this series of compilations. Not that my game is at all Celtic themed or anything (it's actually Western Steampunk/Fantasy).

I listen to the local radio with half an ear. Usually with the volume turned very low so it doesn't interfere with any playtesting.

Something dark, usually. Like Tim Hecker or later Massive Attack.

But then that's what I listen to all the time.

Sometimes the bgm for the map I'm working on to capture the atmosphere I'm trying to create or some dubbed anime so I don't have to read the subtitles.

@FleshToDust haha sometimes it will be going for awhile, but I don't use the RTP music. Its more while I'm in the middle of mapping. Now the anime binge is for real though.

Yeah when people watch anime they don't just watch it, they watch all 22 seasons back to back.
If you like anime, they have a lot of content to keep going in the background.

If I'm writing dialogue for a scene, I prefer to listen to whatever BGM will be playing during it, so that I can capture the right emotion.

If I'm just mapping, setting up events, editing sprites, or doing database work, then I could be listening to a variety of things: music I will be using in the game, instrumental epic music, video game soundtracks, synthwave, or one of @JCBrickston 's awesome Fightin Mooses songs. :p

I usually listen to Vinesauce or another letsplayer when I work. Dialogue distracts me less than music and makes me focus better.

i also tend to listen to select songs from my favorite video games because it helps with the creative juices. to date, "stickerbrush" from the donkey kong country ii (didd'ys quest) ost is my favorite track to listen to when developing.

Depending on my creative mood; OSTs of my favorite games, Nightcore versions of hard music, or just about anything high octane that pushes me an inch away from my fight-or-flight response.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
