What happened to the forum?

Around 6 hours ago, we were unable to post anything, saying it was a forum update or something. Or simply the server is broken. Now, we were back, but at what cost? no WYSIWYG editor. At least on my end.

Anyone any idea what just happened?

Forum software was upgraded. There are still some serious kinks to work out, as you've noticed.

And for some reason, my signature was replaced by some sort of ads. Dunno if there was something that happened here, but I'll assume it was nothing big aside from the upgrade.

Also, where are the text options, emoji menus and the other settings when you are posting a thread or writing a reply?

I was about to post a new thread in the JS Plugin Request sub-forum, but it is impossible to attach links or make the bold texts.

I agreed at @Oscar92player , also unable to provide text based links on a single word.
placing images is possible but works differently, but other ways, it seems to be broken
alot.

I hope this is also fixed on short notice as well, because "how else can you give" good
solution, in bolt and js text code solution or spoiler?

Spoilers work if you know how to use that as for bold text etc as well, but like link
to a word is harder to remember how to add that and other stuff.

As someone who was used to type BBCode manually long before WYSIWYG editor was a thing, this was never been a problem.

To make text bold, use this tag

[b]bold[/b]

Or just press CTRL + B

Aah, the joys of untested forum upgrades. I like how the "upgrade" is actually a downgrade in terms of usability. Oh well, assuming they'll fix it at some point.

Either the forum software auto-updated to the latest version and the forum staff had no idea of it.
Or the forum staff actually did a ninja update without an announcement.

I wonder what would the forum says admin says about this.
As far as I can tell, they seem silent.

I don't see the update on his profile post (except it was 2 hours ago), the forum announcement, nor here.

Insofar as the kinks, trying to reply only gives me the basics -- a text box, Attach Files, and Multi-Quote if I'm quoting someone. The HTML stuff still works like bold font if I punch the codes in, but the "toolbar" doesn't display. Is this just a quirk of my browser, or is that feature also borked for now?

EDIT: Ah, Oscar92Player and TheoAllen already discussed. Sorry, I should've read! But yes, can confirm I'm having that issue too. ^^;

There was announcement of "updating the forum and experiencing some issues" on RPGMakerWeb at twitter - Jan 21

Although I don't use any social media accounts.

I use Twitter but I didn't see the tweet since there is so much going on my Twitter feed.
I feel it weird that nothing was announced (before and after) in this forum so I was assuming this was an auto-update that I had to ask after 6 hours passed.

Still, it weird choice to me that they decide to use Twitter instead of the actual forum.

Indeed, they should have posted something here too. Not everyone uses those "social" sites.
Hope they fix this soon. Never thought that this would happen, but I got used to that toolbar, and now it just feels too empty without it.

Also, the user list at the bottom of the topics is also missing, the list that shows who's currently viewing the topic.

I agree that a post beforehand would have been nice. But there were a few profile posts about the issues that Touchfuzzy did respond to. Regardless, it's going to be fixed and all we can really do is wait until it is.

I thought this was because my internet connection being slow.
