What is "Normal Attack"?

There are a few terms that both the ingame tooltips and online manual never actually describe, and I'm having trouble finding an explanation using the forum search.

The default Attack skill uses an element called "Normal Attack"... how does this element differ from "None", and what exactly does the state do?

That's not an element, it's a state. It means the chance of adding the state from a characters normal attack. I.E inflicting poison with a poison dagger.

The "Normal Attack" element sets the element of the attack to whatever Attack Element the user has via trait. So if you have a weapon with the fire Attack Element, the "Normal Attack" element inflicts fire damage.

The "Normal Attack" state refers to any states that can be applied on hit through the Attack State trait. To be able to apply states via hit, a skill has to add the "Normal Attack" state.

So a 80% Poison weapon can only deliver this effect if the skill has 100% Normal Attack? Or does that alter the chance to 100% Poison?

What happens if you use a skill with multiple elements on someone that is resistant to one of them?

State rates are multiplicative. 100% Normal Attack * 80% Poison = still 80% Poison.

If someone has multiple Attack Elements when using a Normal Attack-element skill, then it will use whichever element will deal the most damage.

Suppose I have:

  • a "Melee" element
  • a "Flying" state with element rate Melee * 0
Will a sword with both Melee/Fire elements still do zero damage against a Flying creature?

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
