Well. Overall I like it, though all I have seen is the trial right now. I have my complaints, but I didn't expected a perfect development tool after all. That doesn't exist. If it did, there was no market share for other tools.
Bad thing that it really doesn't work on Windows XP, I was hoping it was just like some programs that say "Windows xx or higher", then you test it on an older version and it still works. I've seen it happen quite a lot of times, really. Still my PC had Win7 (I just changed to 10 this night-morning, I didn't sleep :'D). But my parents PC which I use when I go to visit them has XP.
:C
The other issue that actually annoys me a little is how complicated it is to build APKs. I have some practice configuring IDEs and dependencies and all that stuff but, I expected something more streamlined because this program is advertised as simple for a child. Also games don't run in my device but oh well poor little thing not enough RAM or processor (excuse me but, is there a minimum requirements list for Android devices running the games?).
I'm on the same train as someone here about the scripts/plugins. Everything is in 8 files, and that includes from the smallest to the biggest thing. I think that having at least an index of some sorts listing all the contents of each file would help, that way you make a quick search and there you go, class Window_Base, or Window_Options, or whatever. The first time I opened it I was unsure how to start, but fear not! I just started to read line by line, wasted like 1 hour or so, and now I feel I can find stuff. :^)
It's just that the previous RPG Maker version was pretty convenient on this matter, having all classes listed in sepparated "files".
JavaScript is weird compared to Ruby, but I've seen some really weird stuff. So... I'm fine. At least we don't have to deal with Fortran, or way worse, some esoterical language like Whitespace and Brain**** x'D.
