What kind of logic is behind the controller configuration?

Hello,
I've some problems with playing with a controller (Nintendo Switch Pro): Sometimes when I start my game the joystick behaves in a semi sensitive way where if you push the joystick slightly the player moves slightly, which is how it's supposed to be. But most of the time the player just moves at full speed (4) when the joystick is pushed slightly, which is only supposed to happen when the joystick touches the edge of the circle keeping it in place.

My question is: Why does this happen and how do I fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Your using the switch pro controller to play RPGM games? I imagine its probably a driver issue since the controller was never designed to work with PC.

It's fully supported by Steam now, but hopefully it's just a driver issue

MV engine is not really programmed to read how much you press. It only waits for input and checks if there's an axis pressed at least 0.5. If there is, a move in a direction gets fired.

@Poryg Huh that's weird cause that would mean it's overwritten by Altimit Movement in some cases. It seems like there is a difference in speed per 0,01mm the joystick is moved outwards.

Altimit pixel movement indeed redefines gamepad movement, that is true.

Considering MV was released before the Switch even existed, I honestly can't say I'm surprised. You'll probably need a plug-in due to using a controller released after MV came out.

Figured out the problem. Turns out it is indeed a driver issue. I remembered I got an 8bitdo Nes30 Pro controller a few years ago. That one doesn't translate via Steam but via Windows' xbox360 controller configuration and works 10/10 times perfectly. The Switch controller is still a 50/50 chance if it will work pixel perfect or not.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
