I think your victory aftermath, maybe with dynamic quotes (like you set conditionals for some quotes, ability to change faceset for each one), whatever version of the Yanfly Engine we get this time, maybe a bestiary and the various menu mods you provide which are sleek, functional and easy to use.

Edit:  Oh God I'd start both of my 15 hour (currently) projects over if I could get a "dungeon tools" script that wasn't a nail in the rump to figure out...

Your job system would be welcome. Hopefully it'll be Luna Engine friendly if we are getting it. Also, I wonder if it can be used commercially. Just keep doing what you do since we don't have to worry about sideview compatability anymore.

Ah, I didn't realize when I posted earlier that the thread was started by Yanfly. ^^;

That being said, I'd like to make an additional suggestion for script ideas.

One of my favorite scripts was the Yanfly Common Even Menu, from the Yanfly Engine RD, there were so many places it could be used, and it was extremely easy to modify.

It would be amazing if MV had a version of that script.

I'm sure.I'm totaly want to see one thing, because of which i was suffered in dull, basic complectation of VX script sets...

The ability of COMFORTABLE usement of 3+ skill animation sheets, for skill animation creating.

Using 2 animation sheets totaly isn't enough sometimes, also I think it isnt too hard to make this easy/comfortable thing to be real.

So...fuking pls..

@baksie

instead of complaining and cursing - search is your friend.  Try this, I use it and find it very helpful for animations.

Also just thought of some Fire Emblem inspired ideas:

-Doubling: Adds an extra attack if faster than the target by a certain amount.

-Random Growth (haters gonna hate:) Allow devs to set growth rates for levelling up. Would be best for smaller numbers.

For bigger numbers, maybe allow for a growth from a certain range. Ideally both could be provided and used at the same time for different stats.

-Support Growth: Depending on characters used in battle, their affection grows for one another at three levels. Some can S-Support for an even greater boost in stats, but only one S-Support.

-Critical Cut-In: Upon a critical, character's image appears for a second.

So MV is going to be mouse and touch controlled by default, I'm guessing there will be some kind of built in on screen menu access button, but not much more.

If that is the case I'd like to see a script that adds more of these or if I'm completely wrong, a way to add these so we can have something like your Common Event Buttons script and use it with touch controls.

If we are talking about plug-in scripts, would there be ways to then modify the way the editor works without having to touch the source code? If so, finding ways to include more of the requested features mentioned in the topic about what we would like to see would be a definite plus, assuming a lot of those features are not there by default.

Primarily, the only thing I'd want is a way to include minor parallax options within the editor without having to worry about using other software, swapping maps in and out, worrying about overlay and locking scripts, or having to redo tilesets to re-organize tiles the way we want. I'm mainly talking about how things are so-forced to a grid, so things like tables, cabinets, chairs, sinks either sit too high up against a wall or too far down. If we could use a plug-in script that allows us to easily shift tiles 1/2 a tile in any direction, and a quick and easy pixel movement that compliments the change, I believe more and more people would be comfortable with using the editor with mapping and not worrying too much about parallax.

I still personally wish they would have allowed a bit more freedom with mapping than grid-based, or at the very least allow us to define our own grids between the tiles and the maps... unless this is a feature already possible and I just somehow missed it.

At this point, though, I'm more excited about the potential of playing freeware RM games on Android over designing my own game.

You sure like passive skills~
I believe that trait-based character progression is the future. Doing so through your JP/Class system or your common event shop would give developers and players some interesting customization options.

Developers could use more methods of control as to how traits are applied to actors, classes, skils, equips, and states. On VX Ace, the trait system still feels very incomplete.

Plug-in is simply a fancy name for a script with a GUI front-end so the game developer doesn't have to actually modify the script to customize it. It is not giving us any more control over the editor than we previously had.

Think about it - if the editor were open to modification, don't you think that'd be a pretty major feature and they'd be advertising the heck out of it? All they've said is that the previously hidden default classes are now available to modify. Still no mention of the editor.

in ACE i struggle so much because i want to peek on how ACE VIDEO and AUDIO playing using WIN32API which stored in hidden class...

so by opening hidden default class code we hope we can encrypt the resource properly now.

also... it would be nice if editor can be modified with pluggin. but like you said... it might be a far away dream... :D .

For the first question: I don't expect anything. I'll let coders do their magic, as they always do =)

Regarding your second question: YEA Lunatic Damage/Objects/States/Parameter/Targets scripts, those are the best.

As for third question: everything, tbh.

I've worked at a couple of places where they were okay with you using extra plugins/scripts etc, but you had to check with Pipeline to make sure they weren't leaving garbage in the scene that causes technical probs down the road. For example, one guy brought in a rig that he got from a website, and for some reason it'd open up a dialog with instructions on how to use the rig. That'd cause a bunch-up later when scenes were auto-processed for various reasons.

I think the reasons folks bring it up, is this lingering hope that for instance.. if you change the scripting having to do with tile sizes, that some how the editor will somehow intelligently know to adjust for such a change.

That was my hope anyhow.

That.. SOME things if adjusted the editor it's self would adjust without actually having to actually change any kind of coding for the editor.

Which in my mind would be cool... but i'm doubting they would allow such a thing... even if i do think they should.

Couldn't beg more for a grid based battle system. Not like the typical Disgaea/Fire Emblem. But more like the Dofus/Wakfu MMORPG, but I know this is simply just wishful thinking. Considering how advanced the scripts would need to be.

Hmmmm.... what complicated would I look for....

1) Minimap

2) Tetris :) (I'm trying to make my own in RPGMVXA, and it's not working well)

3) Maybe some encryption systems, but I don't think you work with those, right? Maybe I should ask @estriole for that...

That's all for now.

Happy RPG Scripting @Yanfly!

I'd love to see timed action commands. I think it would be tricky to use with mobile, but it's something I'd love to play with. :3
