I have been watching the video on youtube from Yanfly. I wish the battle plugin has battler movement option for both the horizontal and vertical layouts. I mean when battler 1 attacks battler 2, batter 1 actually moves all the way to battler 2 and perform the attack, then moves back to its original position. Unless the battler uses magic animation for long-distance attack, it makes more sense for the battlers to be in close range when carrying out attacks.

I'd like to see your Extra Param Formulas script in MV. It looked like there were no bonus parameters shown in the videos. But, really... I'd love to see all of your scripts become plugins for MV~

A big one for a lot of people (I'm assuming) would be a Day/Night/Weather system with an option to toggle between game time and real time, and more realistic storms with a periodic lightning/thunder effect. Shouldn't be too hard to do a plug-in for, no?

Hudell, were you planning on doing anything like this?

Except for the "real time" thing, all of those are already on my list :) .

Good man! I could do without the real time feature anyway. It always bugged me in games like Animal Crossing because if you worked or went to school all day and could only play in the evening or at night, you'd miss a lot of things going on in the morning and during the day.

Shouldn't be complicated to add that as a feature though.

Real time is very easy to do with some state polling and immutability. I have a huge list of things I plan to do :DDDDDD One of the scripts is the abillity to send back to a server the progress of a play through. Another is a new currency system and a couple others include building UI components in react js :D

I think we're definitely entering into a whole new era with RPG Maker. Imagine the things people are going to come up with now that hidden classes are no longer a thing and full-customization is encouraged.

@Lux Fortuna:

I think getting a TBS will cost much more than $200.

If you find a coder who writes an exclusive TBS for $200 you can consider yourself very lucky.

Someone made a free TBS for VX Ace as a side project. The AI system wasn't up to par w/ games like Warsong, but it was still pretty viable from the videos I saw (I haven't tried using it myself since I am completely new to nearly everytyhing--figure I need to get my eventing down before delving too deep into scripts). I agree though, 200 is probably not nearly enough for a system like that just for me personally, but if someone were to make one and market it, my point was that I'd be willing to pay for plugins even if they were widely distributed.

Also, I may be putting too much faith in java, but I feel like w/ java we will be seeing a lot more plugins since it seems to be a more widely used language. With that in mind I hope we see a lot more possibilities--especially if this brings more clients to the program. More buyers = more awareness = more marketing opportunities = more plugins. Don't fail me now, slippery slope!

Going through the list, I saw someone mention Moghunters scripts. I never got a chance to use them, cause I could never figure out how to get them to work. If those could get brought over to MV, then I'd be happier than ever.

I look forward to try implementing a VATS-like system into the combat sequence.

Along with animated enemies .

I'd like to see :
- Infiltration like the old Metal Gear on MSX
- Pixel movement
- Gamepad support for all platform
- JSON support for bones and meshes animations
- customizable UI

I've been prototyping a hybrid of Grandia's battle system and Suikoden's Duels for a while now that I'm looking forward to implementing in MV.

I wouldn't mind seeing a survival system of some sort come along. Even just basic food and drink needs could be fun to work into a story of some sort.

I wanna try to create and adapter script to my existing custom game server program and make a suite of client side APIs for Multiplayer Game creation.

Biggest trick will be matching packet sending and receiving between the 2 completely different systems, but it should be do able, I just finished refining my polymorphic object sorter and parser for the server. yay!

next step would be to set up a working sorter and parser in the MV files and get it to accept the objects

Yeah, they were a hoot, especially trying to get them to work with other scripts.  I translated all of his VX Ace scripts to English 2 years ago.  No idea where I posted them though and no idea if I even still have them on my computer (I've added a few hard drives and upgraded to both 8.1 and 10 since then), so it's probably gone.  :/

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
