Let's see... my first projects were just a 11 year old boy doing random stuff. Throwing some tiles here and there, and... yeah. That's it. I started by opening the database, making characters, and then visualizing them doing stuff. Then, everything grows! And the games die because of hard drive reformatting. And in that era, internet was scarce and USB storage was unknown for me :^D!. YEAH. That old I am.
Then... at some time I was on this "I want to make a game, let's throw some characters". I knew of a program called Face Maker (but it was a weird version made in RPG Maker so I had to print screen and accomodate the face... heh, it was fun). I made a girl with fluffy ears, and called her Hikari, because of a character in Digimon. And Morishita because of Yumiko Morishita, a Japanese singer. Yeah, how important is all that stuff!
Well, thing is that thinking about the story, I had some... ecological interest, I was like "we are destroying the world blablah", so I got inspiration on that, and made a story based on a postapocaliptic world where the nature was so pissed off with humanity that it wanted to kill them all!
But I have always liked sci-fi, so I was not going to miss the chance! I made it so nature was tampered by humans, experiments and stuff, then all went out of control, and bam! Nature is strong as a half-pound hamburger on a vegetarian stomach.
But! I liked norse mythology too. Actually, I love all kinds of mythological tales. But norse the most. So, I constructed a world where there were these 'planes', all being different versions of the same planet, but multiplied by an extra dimension. That way I could explain the existence of each of the nine norse world (Asgard, Midgard, Niflheim, etc). Then I added some monsters of course, and made some Norse Gods relevant characters, and... I don't know, it is not as in depth as it could be!
Then! Remember Hikari Morishita? Yeah, Japanese name trope! I needed to explain that, and the fact that she has fluffy ears. Well, I some day or the other played Guilty Gear, and part of its story explains something about japanese people being chased down or something, I don't remember exactly. Anyway, Japanese people were used as guinea pigs in the past of my game's lore.
tl;dr. What sparked my current RPG Maker project? So many things I like or cared to explain. Right now, I want to explain that neither of the conflicting parties that exist in my game are good or evil. Because that's something I want to tell to my past self.
