I never played World Grand Prix, but Wonder Boy does ring a bell.
I think it was Super Mario Bros. Might have been Duck Hunt or World Class Track Meet though.
Christmas of 89 my mom got me and my brother the Power Set NES pack that came with those games packed in.
The first game I ever played was Jak and Daxter on the PS2,I love the Jak series now with 3 being my favorite,it also helped me get into 3D Platformers, which is my second favorite genre.
@Touchfuzzy: I got the power set too; I don't think I would have gotten Duck Hunt otherwise.
@Darkanine: I love 3D platformers, even the ones a lot of people hate, like Castlevania 64 game.
Hmm... I think it was Bubble Bobble, The Legend of Zelda or Kid Icarus
The first game I ever actually loved and beat? The Legend of Dragoon xD
Bubble Bobble is one of the toughest games I have played, specially the Wii version where you have to kinda glitch one of the last levels in order to pass it.
Never played Legend of Dragoon.
First game I ever played was Day of The Tentacle, a point and click game for the computer. Actually just finished another run through of it not too long ago. Great game.
I'll take your word for it that it's a great game, because "Day of The Tentacle" and "point and click" in the same paragraph makes me think it's a japanese game of censored material
I get that a lot.
It's the sequel to Maniac Mansion. And it is AWESOME.
Another game that I have fond memories of is the first Castlevania.
There is no manlier way to fight Dracula, than to put on a skirt, jump around like a flamboyant stage actor and whip that vampire lord to death and beyond! BD
That sounds... amazing.
Adventure Island, at least on non-Sega consoles.
Ah ok! Love that game, master Higgins and his skateboard, those were the days
Alex Kidd for the original Sega system, or castlevania for the original gameboy. Can't remember, I was pretty small at the time.
Castlevania for gameboy was pretty hard, I tried it once, didn't have time to beat it. I love all Castlevanias (except the new ones that reboot the series).
I am not a fans of Mario Bros, but Super Mario World (SNES) was the first game I played. lol.
Which Alex Kidd? Miracle World, High Tech World, Shinobi World or the Lost Stars?
My first game - Lode Runner http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lode_Runner
Really nice game with opportunity to create your own levels, you know, such a sort of great and rare game maker for dear old 90s.
My first game was actually Freddi Fish, in how far that can be called a game.
My first REAL game was probably Tetris on the original Game Boy. Yep, We had one of those back then, we probably still have, even when the Color was out for a few years. Then came Bubble Bobble and Pop-Up, both for the GB.
@ Isumi: The Super Mario World tv spot is permanently engraved in my brain
@ Knock-knock: The new version of Lode Runner on the 360 is pretty good; I'm currently on the top of the multiplayer rank list (even though I stopped playing like 3 years ago)
@ Laura Yeah Right: I don't know anything about Freddi Fish; but Tetris, of course, is one of my favorite games up to this day.
