The longest one I played was Capella's Promise, which I beat (including post-game) with a time just below 56 hours. Didn't really like the game that much though...

56 hours? dayum, that's a long time, especially for a game you didn't like much. What made you stay?

I kept playing because it was a bareable game and it had addicting traits. If a game is bearable, I will finish it. It is really hard for me to not finish something most of the time unless I simply manage to forget I had it around. I don't like abandoning things and I only have a weak PC to play games on usually anyway.

The longest RM game I played from start to finish was 'Undeniably Sexy: A Thief's Tale'. It was about 35 hours long and had lots of fun moments though also a few parts that were a tad hard and grindy. After that I kind of stuck to shorter RM games. I remember X-Noir took me about 8-10 hours or so to complete (it was pretty engaging) and there might be a few others that went for about 10 hours or so. I kind of prefer the 10-hour long RM games to 30-hour ones since they usually have better pacing and there's a higher chance for me to find the time to complete them.

The longest RM game I've played is The Way by Lun Calsari.

But that includes all six episodes.

    Fantastic--if confusing--game.

Probably Arafell? My steam page says 32 hours but I'm sure it's a little less since there's some idle time in there too.

I think OFF must be the longest rpgmaker game I have played, although it isn´t really that long. I must admit that apart from people's demos here I do not play that many rpgmaker games...

I think it would be The Way series if you count all the episodes as one game. I think those are amazing in term of story but they sure get depressing near the end, that's hinted at earlier on but wow it was really something. I can't remember how many hours it was now, since I played it years ago, but I know I didn't enjoy the gameplay much so near the last episode I choice the option to skip a lot of it and follow the story. I just know still choosing that option, this was the longest RPG Maker game I've ever played.

Next up would probably be Umbral Souls, very well written game loved every moment of the story. The characters all had great motivation and the story events were all fitted in well. Took me about 27 hours to beat it. The gameplay was fine for me, I enjoyed the summon system but I felt it could've been made to be more useful, still a solid game.

In fact both those games are worth playing if you haven't already. Umbral Souls is a lot more recent. They both can be found on RMN.

Yeah, OFF is the longest I have played through as well and even then it was feeling a little stretched out by the end. I do play a lot of demos but id say 99% of the RPG Maker games I have played try to tell a story that could be told in 4 - 5 hours in 20+ hours and I don't have the patience or interest in investing to spend that sort of time on a game at the best of times. 4 - 5 hours is definitely the sweet spot for me. I like to be able to get in, get my experience and get out.

Huh, I'm not entirely sure thinking about that question to be honest. I generally like playing small shorter rpg maker games, mostly from a time perspective of them allowing me to get through the experience quicker and check another one out. I started legionwood and got near the end but I don't remember finishing it, did finish legionwood heroes 1 but I don't remember how long that was. Maybe 3 Stars of Destiny (?) but I can't remember how long that was now either (and I played it offline on steam so that's unreliable). I can think of a few I started that were somewhat lengthy but never finished for various reasons. To be honest I should go through my steam list and try and catch up on some of the ones I have.

Hmm.. Purrhaps, time spent in a single game? I'd have to say maybe one of the wizardry games particularly 5 6 or 7. I played 8 it just didn't grab me the way 5 -7 did. Of those 3, I liked 7 the least, but I beat it anyways. You can import your save from 6 to 7 and from 7 to 8. When I first got Wizardry 6 I probably played that for hundreds of hours.. and I probably didn't even play it until 2013? 2012 or 2013.

For me, longest RPG Maker games I finished were:

    1st Place(Longest): The Way Series.
    2nd Place: Legion Saga 3
3rd Place: Final Fantasy Endless Nova

    Honorable Mention: Phantom Legacy

These games shaped my childhood, for sure. And my love for RPG Maker games and the creation of them. :D

In my country, there is a game called Amnézia (same word for Amnesia in hungarian, however there isn't a translated version of it). It was released in 2004, made with the good old RM2K and many hungarian RPG makers (myself included) have lots of childhood memories about it. I've played it about six times and I still plan to go through it again, because it is a legend among the hungarian RM games.
