Morning all!

We see a lot of random pfps out there and so I wanted to throw a thread out there that wasn't me fishing for plugin labor for once xD.

Whats the story behind your profile pic (bonus if its related to your username) and what was the inspiration for your first projects story?

I'll start. "Puppet Knight" was actually derived from an episode of Sword Art Online Alicization where Alice refers to their characters as ... drum roll... Puppet Knights for simply following orders. My mind went racing with how cool rebranding my twitch and general online presence would be to revolve around it. So profile pic following.

My first and currently being worked on project: Grimoire - Four Words, is kindve a love letter to JRPGs and something I'm making for my 4 kids. Each of them is getting a character with their own story (save for the twins that are a "shared story/character" and tells a journey that very much revolves around their evolving personalities as they get older.

What's your Story?

It's the album cover for my previously released album.

I've been considering changing it as of late, so it may not be that way in the future :LZSskeptic:

edit:
To give a bit more back story as to why, this album was sort of a major turning point in my music career. Though I had released one album prior (music done before the prior album was mostly just singles...or 2 albums that failed to see the light of day), this one had a budget and other performers as part of the whole thing. The project took a year and a half to complete and a lot of money, and while I understand it's a difficult album to appreciate for most folks, it's still something I am proud of - at a technical standpoint it's some of the best work I have done with synths, and from an artistic standpoint the lyrics (in my opinion) hit hard and the story is compelling without being obvious allowing folks to just listen to the music.

My profile picture--and banner--is of Lisa, a character from an older project of mine. Stoic and a woman of few words, she rarely ever lets her icy mask slip, preferring to be on her own when possible. It's incredibly rare for her to trust anyone enough to let them into her inner circle. I guess this goes hand in hand with my 'Frigid Gaze' moniker, along with the fact I chose both of these because in a lot of ways I find myself associating with Lisa the most out of all of my characters I've made across projects, for a number of reasons. : P

One of my earliest projects--or at least one I put a substantial amount of work into--would have been in the mid 2000s on RPG Maker 2000, of a simple little RPG that chronicled one person's adventure after their house is burned down by a pack of orcs. The writing was pretty silly for the most part and the plot didn't go anywhere despite lofty ambitions at the time, but I had fun making what was there and often dream of revisiting it, knowing everything I do now several RPG Maker generations later, where I feel like I could do a lot more of it justice!

I can’t remember if I posted on the thread that @TheoAllen shared so I will just repeat myself here…or not.

My profile pic is actually my first tattoo. The zombie kids are a nod to a trilogy that I have been working on and off again for about a decade. Maybe someday I will finish it if distractions like having fun with RPG Maker don’t keep occupying my time.

The heart lock and key also relate to a tattoo that my wife has.

My user name is a nod to the avatar. When I needed to come up with something for an online presence that is not connected to me real life or my writing.

My first real game will be something that I want to play. But it will have to be a plot that is totally different from any of my stories from almost 4 decades of writing. I just feel like my stories would loose too much in the conversion to a game. I wrote what happens and that is what I want to see in the game. But that isn’t a game at that point.

Mine's actually the main hero of my first game. The only thing that's changed is its artstyle. I've gone from badly drawn muscled heroes to badly drawn thin heroes. :rswt

This is an old version though, I'm going to redraw him for the final product.

My profile pic is commissioned artwork for my game. In the scene, 9-year-old Avery is picking berries for her grandma's cobbler.

Eventually, due to chronic lack of sleep, she falls into a "dream world." (I've since learned through this forum that this is a major cliché called isekai. ... Oh well; too late.) She has to face her hangups and have a "coming of age" of sorts before she can wake up. The glowing orbs represent the four famous people/characters she idolizes -- they manifest in the dream world as her allies.

This is my first game, and it's largely inspired by my daughter and raising a daughter in general. I started making it after introducing her to Chrono Trigger and seeing how much she enjoyed it.

I originally planned my game as a personal project to give to her as a Christmas present ... in 2020 :guffaw:. Then I got stupidly ambitious and excited about the potential of the story/characters, so I've been planning a disastrous commercial release for sometime in the 2040s.

my profile img is kind of my statement that things are not just black and white..
And that there is a connection betwen the colors gold and purplePink..

When painting with oil colors its possible to use several layers of red, and a white/yellow-mix, that will result in a color that is purplePink under moonlight and orange/gold under sunlight, thats because colors are also influenced by the light which makes them visible..

For example sunlight has more yellow in it and moonlight has more white and that has an effect on every visible color..
In that example the white/yellow-mix layer will be stronger visible depending on the light which is used..
red + white/yellow-mix + WhiteMoonlight = purple/pink
red + white/yellow-mix + YellowSunlight = orange/gold

---
about my first game, well as long its unfinished i cant really say its my first game..
but the projects i am working on are SRPG projects, and my current project is more a plugin tutorial for srpg plugins..

As for first game, I have like 20 first games. None are complete xD I am more of an idea guy, which isnt the most helpful for this kind of hobby ^^

It depends on how literal you are. My understanding of isekai is that it's always a literal, physical transportation. So if it's just that Avery falls asleep so hard after being awake for so long that she's living out this deep dream, that's not isekai.

If she has an actual metaphysical experience and gets physically transported into a dream dimension, it is.

But that really doesn't matter for anything...almost any story technique has an identifiable label at this point. You can pick some kind of cliché out of just about anything, the quality or lack thereof comes from what you do with it.

No real story behind mine. It had actually been the box art for Kingdom Hearts 3 for some time, but after The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles came out and I got to enjoy that awesome experience, I decided to roll with this pic of Ryunosuke and Herlock Sholmes to show my love of the game.

Damn. We’ve gotten so close to 0 reports, 0 approvals a few times over the past couple weeks. Does it matter? No. Is it realistic. No? Do I rely on your reports and want everyone to keep posting. Yes. Do I 100% games? …sigh… Yes.

Ah yes, all three of my moods all at once.
