There's this strange tiny line on my monitor. Even stranger is that this line is only visible on the desktop screen, when it's showing the wallpapers. If I open something else, say a program, folder, or website, then it disappears. If I hover my mouse over it, the mouse looks as if I can stretch out its size or make it smaller, but nothing happens when I tried dragging my mouse. If I click on it, it changes color from black to white, but that's it.

What in the world is this? It's surely not a dead pixel. Not sure how long it has been there, but I just noticed it yesterday. Hope someone can help!

@estriole What I installed recently was some Voiceroid program, but it didn't work so I uninstalled it. Not sure if this was before or after. But it's gone now, though. Windows Defender shows nothing suspicious, either.
Control Panel - Programs shows the most recent installed software are NVIDIA drivers.

Antivirus does not always capture malware, it would be good to run security software aimed at this type of "invasion".

I particularly recommend Malwarebytes (mwb), but it's up to you.

After analysis, check item by item before quarantining or deleting everything, it may be that a program downloaded to another operating system may generate a false positive.

Good luck

Hmm maybe check all your startup program using program such as Advanced System Care or something like that... maybe there's a hidden program launching that cause your problem...

you might also check what program currently running using either task manager or some tools for easier check on what program loaded...

also you might also find some uninstaller program... since maybe when you uninstall voiceroid... there's something not uninstalled perfectly... so you can try reinstall the same program in the same path then uninstall it using the uninstaller program...

hope this help.

Ah hah! I found the culprit! It was a program called "Voice Control Engine". I didn't recognize it when I opened task manager. But it belongs to MSI, though...? Nevertheless, the line disappears when I ended the task. How weird... I don't recall MSI having anything like this.

I couldn't make it bigger like he did, though. Haven't uninstalled it yet, but will do if it appears again.

Ugh. This update is taking so long that I'm starting to run out of topics for the weekly blogs that I was making to make up for the fact that it was taking so long to begin with!
