So after watching Aldnoah.zero and having a rant fest with a friend of mine  I began to wonder what my least favortie anime was but truth betold I haven't seen that many anime so i've probably missed the actual bad ones.

Anyway my least favorite anime would have to be soul eater and for one reason...Black star (was that his name I honestly don't remember) he just ruined the show for me and every time I think about soul eater all I hear is BLACK STAR!!! other than him I just found the show boring.

I'm also not a big fan of Naruto or Fairy tale, I use to love Naruto but it just keeps on going and going and going and going and it overstays it's welcome.

But that's just my opinion do you agree with me? probably not in which case what is your least favorite anime(s)?

If you can't find one you truly dislike disappointing anime's also count *cough* sao II *cough*

My favorite anime currently is this -

Because it takes the psychological genre flips it on its head and basically reinvents it

Its a anime to not be missed, the problems feel real, the characters feel real its a amazing ride!

Lol, I almost made a request on the support thread once good thing I caught myself before posting it, it happens to all of us.

Being tired on the internet is like being drunk in irl.

"Master of Martial Hearts" for me. Starts off as a decent but not great ecchi/action anime, but that ending turned it into a sickening piece of garbage.

Literally ANYTHING with Chibi, minus the exception: Full Metal Alchemist. I can overlook it there. I really hate Bobobobobobo or whatever it was, also.

Samurai Flamenco.  Started out as a cute story about a guy trying to be a superhero IRL and people becoming better for it and then suddenly there was a severe shift in tone and violence level halfway through the series, halfway through an episode actually.  PG to R with no warning.  I stopped watching of course, and I'm still mad about it.

There's a bunch I straight up ejected from my brain, which is a shame I know I had good rants for them, but the ones I remember a vivid hate for are Naruto and Bleach.

Naruto I hate a bit less, since it has the honor of being more feminist than Bleach ended up being (somehow), plus it's main character is transgendered, which is neat. But during the actual action, not only did it all go on forever it found new ways of having action happen that Literally was as uninteresting as possible. During the final arc there are about three fights that involve a good guy you've never seen before vs. a bad guy you've never seen before to the point that the only identity either of those characters have is "good guy" and "bad guy". And in the final fight they did the absolutely amazing trick of not only taking us miles and miles AWAY from the fight, but also many YEARS away from the fight. It's like, "here's something that is supposed to be interesting; let's try to find the absolute furthest point from there and focus on that for a while."

And then there's Bleach, which did really really well, until the time skip. I could have lived in a world where Ichigo gave up his powers to stop Aisen. That worked fine. But they had to bring him back, and they had to keep going, it felt like Dragon Ball Z all over again "Oh here's a natural end point for the series, but what's this? **** tons of Money? Well Frick natural endings, let's get out the jumper cables and revive this *****." So Zombie Ichigo goes on to be the God-child of everything ever, and now they are doing something with God or something? It's gotten extremely hard to follow and a lot of the characters are just starting to get sickening. I really don't want to see the redemption of a person that enslaves and breaks women for entertainment.

Why I keep track of those I'm not entirely sure, it's kind of like train wreck syndrome, it's terrible, but you can't really look away, you have to see it to the end. Also, as a writer, I tend to learn by watching other people's mistakes, and this is like a mistake gold mine.

Naruto.... I have a deep, seething hatred for that show. I was told by a lot of people it was awesome, and would be great, and next big thing. Then I checked it out. Awful. Horrendous and boring. Bleh.

I gotta get outta this thread, I am forgetting all the good anime I have seen :p

Log Horizon Season 2.

The first season was perfectly fine, but what are you suppose to expect when you outsource to Studio Deen, the same creators of the original Fate/Stay night? My two cents.

While I don't hate this show, infact I really like the first season, season two...just what the hell happened.

Rant time

Aldnoah.zero, the first Mecha anime I have watched since...that random mecha anime I watched as a kid (maybe it was gundam I don't know) The first season was so promising, it had a lot of interesting characters like Inaho, the guy who gives no f's, Slaine, Rayet (my personal favorite) etc but what did they do in season two, instead of giving them any sort of character development they just go "what character development we don't have time for that" and threw it out the window. Instead of having these characters evolve, instead of allowing us to learn more about them the entire season focus on one thing, how evil Slaine has become. Season two through the entire ending of season one out the friggin window, what was wrong with having Inaho and Asseylum die? that would have been great (for us, not for them) it would have given other characters a chance to grow but instead we get some magic blood and other bs and they're not dead, despite the fact that Asseylum was shot twice once in the head! and Inaho was shot in the head as well!

Season one built up these characters and made it seem that we would get to know more about them season two as I said threw that all away. The writing plummeted further than it did in Sao and Inaho becomes so op it just ruins all immersion, if they were going to do this all along why build up the characters so much? I could not care less for these people (except for Rayet, she's awesome) normally after watching an anime I enter a stage where I'm completely dazed for a few days and am completely obsessed with that show but Aldnoah.Zero became such a trainwreck that the only thing I feel when it was over was one big collective sigh as I realized how much of my life I just spent watching it.

Instead of having an ending that wrapped things up, tied all loose ends and was satisfying we get some bs and the plot for another season!

So that is why Aldnoah.Zero season two is my least favorite part of an anime, I didn't include this in the op because It doesn't count as a full anime and I can't hate on the first season.

And don't even get me started on Sao II, that's just not worth my time.
Rant over.

There are too many bad anime for me to even have a least favorite... I used to work for a fansub group and I have over 5TB of anime due to it... The list of good anime is far shorter than the list of bad. For me, anything overly ecchi or that focuses mainly on fanservice goes in the terrible list for me along with 95% of school days stuff. Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Bakugan Battle Brawlers and all shows like them also get tossed... Never even liked the Pokemon games...

I do have several anime that I love with a passion... just that the bad ones aren't worth remembering in most cases.

@ Soryn: Pokemon is probably the most nostalgic thing for me, it was the anime I watched before I knew what anime even was and while it has fallen from what it once was the original, what five seasons were pretty good. I can see where you are coming from though, hundreds of episodes repeating the same thing over and over again with countless rip-offs and wannabes, it becomes a mess.

It's not so much about the hundreds of episodes... I just don't like those shows... I've watched many long shows like Case Closed and One Piece being 2 of the longest. I think my 1st anime was Ronin Warriors (before I knew what anime was) which was part of my Saturday morning cartoons back in 1995 or so. Obviously worlds apart from Pokemon. I never liked kiddie type anime.

@Soryn, holy **** I remember Ronin Warriors. I was probably watching re-runs, because I think I saw Dragon Ball Z first, but I had no clue what I was watching was anime. Also you reminded me Pokemon's on my **** list too, if you watch the first two episodes you have basically seen the entire show. (Introduce Pokemon/Gym Leader -> Team Rocket tries to get pikachu -> Team Rocket flies off and finish any in progress gym battles)

I don't think I could name a least favorite anime, I tend to stop watching anything that doesn't really catch my interest within the first few episodes. That said, anything with to much fanservice tends to lose my interest pretty fast, no matter how good an anime might otherwise be it's to hard for me to take it seriously if everyone's clothes keep getting ripped off/taken off randomly or it starts getting into some weird love octagon thing.

Also, anything that goes on and on like Bleach, Naruto, Hunter X Hunter, Dragon Ball etc; basically if a show breaks 50 episodes with no sign of stopping I'm unlikely to watch it. To many other things to watch and far to little time, and I like for shows to have an ending most of the time. To many (if not all) of the longer shows tend to keep existing until people get so tired of them that they get cancelled outright, without a shred of closure to speak of. There are a few exceptions to this rule for me (and others I'm sure I just haven't/won't give a chance) but usually I won't commit to watching a long anime until after it ends so I know it won't just drop off the face of the earth suddenly once I get interested in the story.

I also have to agree with Sharm on Samurai Flamenco, though I don't really have an aversion to violence in television myself. Still, a tv show should not spend 6 episodes being benign enough for me to have no concerns letting my kids watch it only to turn darker than Black Lagoon in the middle of the seventh. It kind of felt like full metal jacket - the tirade of vulgar language and racist insults to warn you from the beginning that it is definitely an after bedtime type of show.

I guess... Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo maybe?

I'm a big fan of the book and I felt very insulted by this anime  >_>

About  Samurai Flamenco, I was afraid at first because it's yaoi undertones, but after the twist, I just could stop laughing for the rest of the show :D   I wonder if it's because in western culture becoming a superhero means being like Batman or Spiderman, while in Japan it means becoming like Kamen Raider, Ultraman, or the Power Rangers. Funny show.

The problem with fanservice is that most of the time it starts detracting from the show. I used to not mind it so much, but when almost every genre starts turning things sexual I lose interest much faster. Almost every new anime I try I get bored of now. When I was reading Gantz I found the premise super interesting... but there was such over the top sexuality that I couldn't tolerate it anymore. It didn't start the best place either when the first entrance of a woman is she's naked.

I love cute and funny things, but many of them turn plain silly halfway through the series. The most recent is Saki Episode/Side A. What started as cute girls playing mahjong somehow started adding psychic lesbians to drive the plot forward. The only other one at the top of my head is Yakitate Japan. Boy wants to make bread + a ton of puns and reaction gags sidetracked into eating bread = time travel. WHAT?

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
