there is no need for the airship event, you could set the location in the first event.

The reason why you can't move as soon as the airship is triggered is bcause you set that on autorun without deactivating it after one pass (control self switch to activate second page without autorun).

Autorun events loop, which means that your event sets the airship location every frame (60 times per second) and never gives control back to the player...

The airship event is set to autorun. You'll have to disable the event by making a new page that will become active on another condition, which is usually a self-switch, otherwise it will keep looping, holding up the game.

simply delete the airship event (second picture) and place the line "set airship location" instead of the red line "control variable" of your airship seller event (the first picture).

Is there any way to make it so when a player enters a certain part of the map it does something? I want it to rain in one part of my map and then be sunny on another part but im not sure how to do it. Also i want my map to be the biggest it possibly can be will there be any repercussions for a massive map? Also how do you break out of the auto run loop? I tried exit event processing but thats not it.

A carefully places event on trigger "player touch" can do anything to the map.

Large maps might cause lag depending on PC resources and the type of mapping you do.

The basic problem is the number of events, especially if those events are more than static animations.

There is no fixed rule, but if you go beyond a few hundred events your PC might cause lag (older PCs might experience lag after several dozen events, newer PCs might be able to handle a thousand simple events - but any PC might break down lagging if you have a single badly designed parallel process running - it just needs a constantly updated HUD without careful use of waits to lag any PC.

Happened to me once (OK, I designed that event to test for lag so it probably doesn't count here, most regular events wouldn't cause that much lag)

You might start reading a few tutorials to update your Knowledge on VX Ace, some of your questions show that you're accustomed to other versions.

You'll find a lot of usefull links here:

So basically i just have to copy and paste a bunch of  event triggers?

Also what about maps? can i have an unlimited amount of those?

Ill read up on Ace, thanks.

PS

One last question, is RPG Maker VX Ace able to do online gameplay? so that you can play with others?

1) yes, but I suggest using the mapping to guide the player to the places with the event - if you have that event placed on roads several tiles wide, you'll need more events, risking lag.

2) Most probably there is a limit at several hundred maps - but you'll need a team of a dozen mappers working months to get to that limit, if those maps should look like more than empty dungeons.

3) Online or even simpler offline multiplayer: forget it at the moment. There is no support for this on default, and while some people started to make the scripts neccessary for this I believe it will be a year at minimum before those scripts are available - if those projects don't fail due to lack of time or other problems.

Chay Hawk, please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.

Try to create one topic per question, instead of using one for a bunch of them.

Ok now placing alot of events, does that mean just on one map or all together on all maps? so if i have 30 events on one map and 30 in 20 other maps will that be bad?

no, its events per map.

And even 30 events isn't much for this case - on most maps you'll need more events, because all map animations and half the map decorations are done by events.

The higher the number of events in a single map, the higher the chance of that map lagging.

But there are no certain rules about that because it depends on the PC as well as on what kind of events you placed on the map and how many common events you've running on parallel (those arent part of the maps)

Ok awesome, probably 98% of my events are just text.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
