When will the standalone Mac version be released?

I used RPG Maker Xp a long time ago, and I would love to give this one a shot. Sadly, I do not have a Steam account or have Steam installed on my Mac (nor do I want to). I would also like the opportunity to try it first, which I don't believe is an option with the Steam version. As far as I know, only the standalone Windows version has the 20 day trial...

Thanks!

I purchased the PGR maker MV for my Mac but it's still not compatible. Then, when emailing a request for help, haven't heard back in weeks. I just need to know how to activate the program for my Macintosh.

I bought the game, but I still haven't received the pure Mac version, either. I think I'm going to give up on it. I know I can access it with Steam, but it just feels odd and different. :(

I'm sorry, it's just really frustrating...

There is no such thing as a "Pure Mac" version. The Windows/OSX version uses the same cross-platform QT widget kit which incorporates Chromium/Node-Webkit.

Asking for a steam-free version when the Mac version is on Steam just asks the question of why it's a big deal to download steam. It's only used to download and launch the editor. All mac's that can run steam, can run RPG Maker MV. That means OS X 10.7 minimum 10.7 is the first version that doesn't work on first generation Intel Mac's (eg 2006) which would already be too weak to actually run or play MV games to begin with.

Because I don't want to waste space installing Steam on my laptop just for MV. Also, if you bothered to read the original post, there is no free trial on the Steam version, whilst there is one for the standalone Windows version.

There will be a standalone, because Degica is as interested in it as you are - simply because it will give them more sales precisely for the reasons mentioned here.
So they're probably as frustrated about the delays as you are

As Archeia previously mentioned, we're still waiting on the program developers in Japan to finish the stand-alone Mac version (along with the trial). It's a high priority for us, as well as for the developers. We just have no choice but to wait until they're finished. Especially since everyone wants a Mac version that works correctly, right? :)

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to keep busy with parts of game development that don't require the engine -- things like story planning, art or partaking in the quickly upcoming holiday event forum activities. :D

Thank you, Lunarea, Andar, I appreciate your posts, it's encouraging, at the very least.
