Story:

About a week or two ago, I purchased a child-generator folder.
I've figured out from watching tutorials on YouTube that I have to put the corresponding files to the right folders for assets.

Thing is...I don't know where my game pulls the character generator files from. I have seen and tested the "dlc" folder from steamapps, but I don't think that's where it actually pulls the files from. (I've tested meaning I put the right files in the right ones, but it just didn't show up in MV)

Did anyone else have something similar happen? How do you do it?
For context, I downloaded RPG Maker MV from Steam, and purchased the assets from this website separately. I am a MacOS user.

for MacOS, all apps are in reality hidden folders. if you pull up the context menu for any app, you will see an option "open archive" or something like that (can't tell how it is named in your language and your version of MacOS).
If you do this you'll gain access to the folders, including the generator folder for adding parts that do not originate from steam.

It should be automatically added to your generator.
This only works if I downloaded the kids generator pack from Steam...which I didn't qwq

I got the game engine on steam, but not the expansion pack. I didn't know about this until after I bought it so that's a mistake on my end.

Ah I see, then it is as Andar said, you have to go to Apps folder in MAC and look for RPG Maker and open that. The generator folder should be there somewhere. Or follow this tutorial:

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
