Yeah. It got messed up during the update. It'll get fixed though. We just need to be patient.
Also you can use use ctrl+b to bold like this. And ctrl+i to do italic like this and ctrl+u to underline like this. Pressing ctrl+b or ctrl+i or ctrl+u again will remove it. There's a lot of codes you can check out till the issue gets fixed. https://xenforo.com/community/help/bb-codes/

AWESOME! thank you for the information! I take the formatting in forums feature for granted and it really threw me for a loop!

Haha same. I lost my sh*t when I saw that the formatting bar was gone XD Also the 'people who are viewing this thread' at the bottom lol I was thinking about making a thread but I put it on hold. I'm too lazy to use formatting codes...

Yeah its been done since the update Gothic. A lot of old features went poof and staff is working on fixing them.
