It's all mentally related, especially when it comes to being around others. Could have panic attacks or trigers from PTSD. Or for Bipolar II, days where I can't even get out of bed, and would call in sick. o.o
Then do something that doesn't involve being around others and has clients/deadlines you can choose from, like freelance graphic design.

Don't I have to teach myself all that? I can't go to school. Which I think I'd have to anyway.

(Good thing I AM interested in Graphic Design, heh). I know getting pasts interviews is probably the hardest part for me to do.

I'm going to finally head to a clinic hopefully next week and see if I can figure out if I have post-concussion syndrome. My mother says, ever since I had one, my balance and memory has been terrible. I have no sense of depth perception at all. I walk into walls, drop things constantly, stumble around, etc. And I forget too. My whole childhood is like... a blank to me.

Anyway. I always figured that if I can't "work", then if I get my hobby good enough to sell (game making or writing), then maybe I'll make myself useful.

Or freelance. D:

You can learn just about anything online now.  Pick something you're good at and enjoy, and offer to do it for others for money.

I came into this thread expecting AT LEAST ONE "Who is your daddy and what does he do?" I'm disappointed...

I'm a dishwasher, it sucks sharing a name with an appliance.

It's like

"What do YOU do for a living?"

"Oh, I'm a Microwave."

or

"Oh, I'm a Refrigerator."

or

"Oh, I'm a Vibrator."

Well I have ASD (Aspergers Syndrome) is my full condition. This condition causes me to worry compulsively and also stops me from going outside of the house and traveling in the car. I also have OCD which causes me to have bad thoughts and to wash my hands. I have suffered from these problems since I was diagnosed with ASD in 2011 when I was 14 and now I am unable to get a job or work in a proper workplace.

However I do have a job. My job is as a game creator, a job where I can work on games and release them from home without having to go out at all :) It's the perfect job for me and I am actually currently working on my first ever game which I hope to release in 2016 :) So though my problems make life very hard it is always nice to know that I can have a career as a game creator, especially as I love making and playing games and understand RPG Maker very well :)

Matthew.

@Haydeos, there is a name for that job, and its Kitchen Porter. I understand that being called dishwasher makes it sound dehumanising.

Oh, and a vibrator would be called a Toy Boy maybe.

I've changed my career path so many times already and I'm only 27. Finished university in biological science, but science jobs market is quite lacking at the moment, so it was hard to find a job in that.

I then ended up studying for accountancy in my own time for a couple of years. Aced the exams, had a handful of jobs as a bookkeeper and a data analyst, then realised it's not for me.

It was only mid-to-late last year I decided to try turning game-making into a career path, and ever since then I've finally felt that I've chosen the right path in life.

Cool, but finding a spot in game industry is very competitive and low salary.

And we live in a time where it's much easier to make your own spot in the gaming industry. The barrier to entry used to be pretty limited to major brands. Sure, there is a lot more choice in what games a prospective player can pick because of independent games. Over-saturation can definitely be an issue. But the right combination of skill, resources, dedication, market savvy, and dumb luck can do the trick.

^Yep, besides many of us gamers like to collect and play as many games as we can find.

I work in Sam's Club as a... Cart pusher xD (that horrible job. Customers can be a pain in the ass, some throwing carts randomly and when it hits a car, we get blamed. The manager's an rear end in a top hat, she wants the bay full, which is hard considering it's always like rush hours lo and we have 2-3 people per shift, usually twol)

Hopefully, I'll start working in a clinic or hospital next spring and start being an author ^_^

I study veterinary medicine currently in my third year. Here in Austria the whole thing takes us six years so I still got a big part ahead of me, but I'm looking forward to my work afterwards. I'm also looking around for a student job at a local vet at the moment to earn some extra money and already gather some experience.

He mad, but he cute :kaopride:

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
