I am new here and just bought all of the Pioneer Valley Games packs. I do not know where to install the spritesheets and all of the proper places for each character. I have looked for answers but cannot find any and would like to know if anyone know of a simple guide to installing the packs such as Legacy Monster Pack, Fantasy Resource Bundle etc. Thanks!

I've moved this thread to VX Ace Support (you posted in Tutorials, which is for tutorials, not for general help questions). Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

I'm not sure how the individual packs are set up - I IMAGINE most of them have folders for the different types of resources (a folder for Characters, a folder for Tilesets, a folder for Battlers, a folder for Faces, etc).

If they do, you just copy the resources from those folders, and put them into your project, into the folders with the same names.

Inside your project there'll be a Graphics folder and an Audio folder. Inside Audio there'll be folders for BGM, BGS, ME and SE. Your audio resources from the packs will go into the appropriate folder there. Inside the Graphics folder, there'll be folders for Animations, Faces, Characters, Tilesets, Battlers, and several more. Again, the resource just goes into the appropriate folder.

When you're back in your project, and want to load a resource (say, put a sprite on an event), the ones with the blue dots are the default ones from the RTP, and the ones with the red dots are the custom ones you've imported/copied in.

If you try and use it and it's not doing the right thing, you've either saved it into the wrong folder or (in the case of tilesets) are trying to use it incorrectly (because any A tileset images can only go into a single slot in the tileset, and many people put them in the wrong slots).

Ok, sorry about that. I have tried putting them in different folders but it only shows a small sliver of the image. I am not sure how the creator got them to show up with the entire character. I do not know what settings you need or what folder it would need to go in as the characters are each in their own folder but it does not specify what folder any of their different parts go into. If anyone has bought the Monster Legacy Pack 1 or any of the other resource packs designed by pioneer games and knows how to do this, that would be appreciated.

Did you rename the files?
What you describe is what usually happens if you have a single sprite sheet (and most of the HF-Spritesheets are for single sprites), but the program believes it to be an 4x2-spritesheet.

That distinction is created by the $ in the filename, it has to stay there for the High-Fantasy-Sprites that have it in the filename...

Or, if you're talking about tilesheets instead of spritesheets, those need to go into the tileset-slots with the same A#-Number if they're A-Tilesheets, or into any of the B to E-Slots if they are non-A-Tilesheets.

Placing a regular tilesheet (for B to E-Slots) into a tileslot intended for autotiles (A1, A2, A3, A4, A5-Tiles) will cause most of the tilesheet to vanish. That "vanishing" is intended (and works correctly) only for the A-Tiles, not for the other tilesheets.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
