@Oddball @mauvebutterfly Though this is supposed to be a general discussion, if you're trying to help me specifically with my specific game, then I recommend that you read my conversation with Wavelength, as many details about

@Oddball You have an idea there, but this doesn't really work with the item I have in mind.

@mauvebutterfly "Recharging item" Now that is a really good idea I haven't thought of before! It is a phoenix crest, so it makes sense that it would regenerate after being used... But how would I implement the recharging? Would it be timed? Recharge some every battle? Maybe an NPC of some sort would work, though. (In case you didn't notice, I'm typing this as I read.) The rest of your post doesn't fit the item, and I have a hard time translating it into more general (or specific, depending on how you look at it) terms since I'm so tired right now.

To be honest... no. Not for my game, sorry. But, as I said this is supposed to be a general discussion, so I'm not saying you shouldn't have posted. You did have some good ideas, but they just don't work for my game in particular.

Add side paths in dungeons with a side boss in them. Make the item a reward for defeating those.

He mad, but he cute :kaopride:

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
