Hi.  I have very little experience with RPG Maker, but had an idea and wanted to give it a shot.  I was wondering, with the features I'm planning to include my game, is there a particular version of RPG Maker which would be best for me to buy (i.e. one that would allow me to implement most/all of the features I want to implement)? The game would have chapters, custom battle commands, conversations/plot during battles, gender/name/stats select for the player character, events that occur once you reach a certain level, and vehicles that lower the random encounter rate. As I said, I haven't had much experience making games before this, so that's a factor too.  Is there is a version of RPG Maker that would be best in this scenario? Or even if there isn't, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out.

RMMV
All what you listed would be the same in everyone of the RMs, mostly done by eventing and a few things that need scripts or plugins.

I suggest you use the trials to find the one you like best - RMXP has manual mapping that is more work but also gives you more control of the map, RMVXA (Ace) is the one with currently the largest selection of scripts and resources and often cheap on steam resellers, RMMV is the newest one and the only one that can deploy games to other systems than Windows, and has no limits on screensize.

Thanks!  I'll be sure to check out the trials

It is also important to mention that MV uses Javascript for its plugins and allows changes to basically ANYTHING in your game. In the past there were always restrictions at what could be done and what not with plugins. Of course with MV there are still some restriction but they are considerably less than in any other maker.

I'll keep that in mind, thank you.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
