Following the cajoling of Ms Littlefish, here I am, introducing myself ridiculously late.
I joined the forum in August 2012 (yup, nearly 2 years ago) with zero intention of making games. I only joined as it was another site where I could try out rpgmaker games. That's all. No other reason. But over time I found myself thinking "I wonder if I could do that?" So at the beginning of 2013 I launched myself at it and here I am still. One game released, another almost finished.
I feel a slightly odd fish at times in this community. I have never owned a console (I was a remarkably serious child, with no interest in video games) and it wasn't until about 5 years ago that I came across an rpgmaker game, played it, got hooked. What this means, though, is that I have never, ever played any of the 'classics'. You won't see me extolling the virtues of Chrono Trigger. I wouldn't know a Final Fantasy if I found one floating in my soup. All the references to so many of the 'canonical' games are lost on me. But I get by.
I keep myself going by drinking green tea (not ordinary black tea, hate the stuff), though it has been known for a glass of fine wine to make me forget all about tea. When I'm writing I can get through gallons of the stuff (tea, that is, not wine. Wine is not good for clear writing!) and I think probably my writing is my strongest ability. Mapping is coming along nicely, skills are getting really rather good, and I'm becoming much more proficient with graphics (though still a very long way to go).. But scripts! Ah, scripts. I do not think my relationship with scripts will ever blossom into a deep and abiding friendship.
I enjoy the forum immensely, and have found so much help here. I never expected it to be like this, having experienced some other sites. Quite unique, in my opinion.
So yeah, here I am.
