Hmm, this is tough. I'll stick to comic book heroes from the big two for now.
Flash (Wally West version). He gets underestimated a lot but he's the most true to the ideal that the League tries to hold up. He's cocky and geeky and funny, but at his core he's all about doing everything he can to help people as much as he can and because he's doing it for the right reasons he succeeds better than most at making his city a better place. He makes friends with everyone who will let him, including villains. What's not to love about that?
Oracle is a favorite, she's smart, determined and loyal, she doesn't let being paralyzed stop her from being a well respected superhero. I like how, in the comics, she's portrayed as Batman's equal in intelligence, she just goes about it in a very different way, a way that Batman and many others rely heavily on. Sometimes she lashes out at people over her disability when they don't deserve it and I get frustrated with her, but it's a realistic fault for the personality type she is. I'm still mad at DC for reconning her out of existance. Batgirl Babs is great and all, but she's a different type of hero than Oracle, and not just because she's not paralyzed. Well, okay, it's the cause but it's not the only way that she's different.
I love Superman when he's actually written as a boyscout like he should be and not this "darker, edgier and angstier" thing they do with him sometimes. He's not meant to be all angsty like Spiderman, that's Spiderman's thing, leave him to it. Let him feel the stress of his actions and the loss of things he couldn't control, sure, but don't have him angst. His tough choices shouldn't ever be between good and bad, they should be between two good choices with vastly different results. My current favorite portrayal of him is the Lois and Clark version. I kind of like the relationship he has with Batman, where they don't get along that well but they both highly respect and understand each other. When it's more antagonistic or more best buds it doesn't feel quite as true. Sups and Bats have made different but equally valid choices on how to solve the same problem, it's kind of the basis of their relationship.
Nightcrawler is just so. . . faithful, and not just in a religious sense. It's really quite adorable how he quietly just believes and lives by his beliefs. I enjoy other Marvel characters, but since this is talking about the admiration aspect of favorite, he's really the only one who belongs on this list.
I'll be honest, I haven't read a lot of marvel stuff. They tend towards black and grey morality and the characters all angst too much for me. Looove the movies though, they've been a lot of fun.
