Emma Frost was a great part of Joss Whedon's run on The Astonishing X-Men, which was a fantastic series of comics, in my opinion. Outside of that, I don't actually know the character that well, but I agree that she's a good one!
Easy pair. A certain spider themed journalist and a multibillionare with all the power of the world.
And no, I'm not referring to Peter Parker.
Spider Jerusalem.
See this smoky, skinny motherfokker? Reminds me of Rorscach if he only didn't give a ****, which I like. Kicks ass and not only he manages to kick ass, but he finds the most painfully way of doing so, doing whatever it takes to discover truth in the process.
Transmetropolitan, if anyone wants to meet him. ADVICE: Not for those who get triggered easily. Written by Warren Ellis.
And that's only the western one.
The eastern one is so much different. He actually gives a ****. He gives so much of a **** that, once, he kidnapped thousands of people and held them in one place for days to send them away from Japan just to save their lives and help them get one.
Akira Takizawa.
From Eden Of The East. Highly reccomended anime. This one desn't have a trigger warning, so anybody can watch it.
@Buka: Emma huh? That's surprising, a lot of people hate her. Not sure why, I mean, she's a bit too much fanservice for my taste but other than that she's a deep character. Yeah, I'm with Touch, I really liked her and Cyclopse together, they were so much more healthy than him and Jean and I started to actually like Scott. Maybe that's why there's so much hate. You can't let new characters get in the way of the fan favorite paring! I thought it was interesting what they did with Emma in the animated series Wolverine and the Xmen but you'd probably hate it.
I used to collect tons of X-Men and various other Marvel comics. Had a bunch of hero action figures (still do somewhere in my dad's attic I think).
I always really liked Cyclops (won't go into that, TouchFuzzy did a great write up on him), as well as Wolverine. I like the comics Wolverine better than some of the movie adaptations of him (at least his stand-alone films... ehg).
For non-mutants, I think I first really started to like Iron Man in the late 80's - it was just a really cool concept to me. The Punisher was also pretty rad.
I never cared much for Daredevil until just recently after watching the Netflix series. Episode 2 hallway fight scene - amazing choreography and cinematography.
I'm not sure if I would classify Gintoki as a hero but that character has a serious back story (which is mostly teased with comedic versions of it.)
I think that Gintama series is an odd one. While it generally is comedic, it can suddenly swap to full serious mode or have even episodes/arcs that are serious.
Now if we want to think about incredible "super heroes" so to say, I guess Bruce Wayne could count. He tries to make Gotham a better place to live almost 24 hours a day due he hardly has time to sleep properly.
Not exactly an "Hero" but I'd have to go with Netero from Hunter X Hunter:
What I like most is how he becomes what he is because of hard training and not just by touching a weird asteroid or by paying stupid amounts of money -.-"
He doesn't really act because of 'justice' or something like that. What drives him forward is a good challenge (in this case a powerful ant :3).
/respect
Another one I can mention is Emiya Kiritsugu from Fate/Zero. The speech he gave to Saber was priceless :3 (here:
).
PD: I really dislike most of western "Super Heroes", sorry... lol.
so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most.
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
