I don't know if this was asked before, but I will be greatful for a reply:
Am I allowed to use these sprites if I use RPG Maker VXAce? or are they MV exclusive? (I mean: is it legally allowed?)
I personally don't mind if you use them for VXA, but since the majority of the sprites -are- edits or built off of the original MV sprites, it's a bit of a legal gray area and would fall under the RPG maker creator's legal rules. If you do not own MV, you do not have the license to use them.
having said that... A portion of the sprites I did build from the ground up, and do not follow that MV guideline. allow me to list them:
Pomeranians
Baby chicks
Seagull
Ostrich
penguins
Monkeys
All animals under the "very small animals" tag
All animals under the "fishes" tag
Golems
Walking mushroom
Mini mushroom men
Running radish
Kasa-obake
Kappa
Ghosts
Ariman
Catbear
Werewolf/wolfbeast
Behemoth
all animals under the "dragons" tab EXCEPT for the "dragon recolors" and "cute fat lil' dragons" (as the wings come from MV sprites)
I have a question on the sheet of a soldier riding a horse. MV doesn't capture the entire sprite- is there some adjustment I need to make to the sprite sheet for it to work properly?
Specifically, when I create an event with the image, MV only captures a small portion, not the whole sprite.

it's a 4 frame animation as with the other running horse sprite animations. These are specifically ment to be used with a plugin that would allow for 4 frame or more animations and is likely the issue. Since I can't be sure what plugins you would be using, I can't offer much advice on fixing the issue past that and you would have to look into the plugin you're using for more help instead.
If you insist on using he sprite without a plugin and try to make it work on the default MV settings, what you would do is cut out a row of the sprite vertically so you have 3 rows worth of sprites not 4. When I originally made the sprites, I tried to squeeze them down to 3 frames, but the animation wasn't looking right to me so I ended up doing a 4 frame animation instead. Others have done this for their own game so I know it's possible, but I still think it looks strange.

As these are (mostly) edits of MV's sprites, you will need a legal copy of RPG maker MV, otherwise~~
Credit is appreciated, but not required.
They are free to use for commercial or non commercial.
You are free to edit, change, recolor, re-edit, remix, maim, mangle, add on, divide, and conquer to your heart's content. I don't even mind if you re-upload them elsewhere as it would only mean more people get access to them and that is A-OK in my books
meaning you're free to use them in any way shape or form. You're free to credit me or not, I don't mind.
I love what you have done here and I am quite appreciative of the work you have done!
I will be sure to credit you and incorporate these sprites within my new upcoming game (The Plague of 2020) I would be happy to send you a copy as well when it is finished!
On a side note, I had started editing some of the base sprites in RPG Maker (which took quite a long time) before I realized that you had this resource. By this time I had already made 2 sheets of cats and half of a sheet of dogs!
I thought I would share the side story as well as once again saying thank you. With you making these, you are saving me countless hours of work and stressing trying to find the time to make everything myself!
Until your next time, I would love to talk more about this!
Oh my goodness! These are so gorgeous! Thank you so much for making them. My forest already looks SO much better with a few squirrels running around and ducks in the water. I can't wait to map my farm area and put in those beautiful pigs and goats and chickies!
Christmas comes early this year and I've got one doozy of a present for everyone here. I noticed when looking at the default resources in MV that there was an unusually small amount of animals--a smaller amount then most of the other RPG makers, and that will simply not do. I took a look at every other RPG maker's animals and I decided to remake them all for MV. I then also added some new animals that I felt like should be givens for any typical game. I tried to keep them faithful to the MV style, and there are a few I'm not completely satisfied with, and I will try and fix when I can.
Current count of unique animal sprites: 50+ (s-so many!)
I was also given a suggestion by Skysurfer about running horses. I was not going to do that at first but then I said "challange excepted" and well now we have running horses. (again trying to keep to the MV style)
DISCLAIMER:
the running horse animation IS 4 frames, so you will either need a plugin for extra frames or you will need to use some other method of using 4 frames in your animations, but it should be usable. Apologies that I could not bring it down to the default three frames, I really did try! But it just was not working like I wanted it to. Alternatively, they can be used in RPG maker XP. For the sake of information, the frames are 64x57, slightly bigger then the original sprite.

so many horse recolors they had to have their own spoiler, both walking and running:
solid color/plain horses:

alt horse patterns and types
painted horses:
Camels, both with one and two humps~! Complete with saddles and various colors
Farm animals
Consists of the cow, bull, pig, goat, sheep, giant chickens, and baby chicks
Cows:
Bulls
Pigs:
goats:
sheep:
Giant Chickens: These guys where made because I needed a large chicken sprite for the cockatrice sprite, and decided to just roll with these as their own sprites:
Wolf/large dog; these aren't "wolfy" enough for me, but they could be used for wolves
wild dogs/jackals; for those that want wild dogs that are less bulky
Badgers:
Hippos: against my better judgment I went ahead and made a full character sheet
Geese:
Ducks both walking and swimming:
Seagull: this is for overhead view, no proper seagull sprites yet! sorry!
Ostrich:
Reindeer:
yak:
saddled yak:
mountain goats: I wanted wild goats, and the regular farmy ones wheren't cutting it.
Beavers: both swimming and walking u w o~
penguins: comes in a few different species, as well as sliding ones!
Monkeys: both regular and snow!
Very small animals
Squirrels, rats, chinchilla, ferrets, moles, large moles, frogs, large frogs, small turtles, large turtles, snakes, lizards, small birds, owls small crabs, large crabs, cobras, bees/beehives, butterflies and dragonflies
the animations for these are very basic/small since they are small animals and I figured it wouldn't be a big deal.
Squirrels
mice:
chinchillas:
ferrets:
moles:
large moles:
frogs:
Large frog because why not? He too has basic animation because it amuses me.
small turtles:
large turtles:
snakes and lizards:
misc. flying birds
smaller birds- VX/VXA friendly!
Owls both sitting and flying:
small crabs
large crabs
Cobras
bees/beehives:
flying butterflies and dragonflies
Fishes
these are proper fish sprites like other animals. ment for undersea levels, aquariums, fish tanks.
variety of common small fish, round fish, sharks, larger sharks, great white sharks, mola molas, giant boss octopus/kraken
common variety of fishes
round fish:
sharks
Larger Sharks: Due to the size of these sprites, I will not be making full sheets of these. They are about the size of three MV default characters~!
Great White Sharks:
Molamola/sunfish; a friend has pestered me for awhile to specifically make these guys!
Giant Octopus/Kraken: This guy was split into two parts, one for the head, and one for the tentacles. Because of how big he is, I will not be making full sheets of him, but hopefully having the tentacles separated out will be fun to play with and animate/move in game cinematics
Fishing animations
Disclaimer: you WILL need to heavily edit these into sprite sheets, this is more of a resource sheet. The animations are simplistic for those that only want vague shadows, and doesn't want anything super detailed.
Mythological animals: Unicorn, Carbuncle, Cockatrice,Kirin/Qilin, Golems, walking monstrous mushrooms, mini mushrooms, running radishes, kasa-obaki/傘おば,Tanukis/ たぬ,Kappa/ 河童 ,floating skull heads, RPGXP styled ghosts, death sprites, zombie animals, possessed books, Arimans and catbear and werewolf/large wolfbeast, Giant cat/saber cats, Mimic Gate, and behemoth, spider people, recolored bosses: death, demon king, false prophet
Unicorn; gold horn and white horn versions. I included separate images for horns in case anyone wanted to use those too
Carbuncle:
Kirin/Qilin/麒麟:
Golems:
Cockatrice:
Walking mushroom:
Mini Mushroom Men:
Running radish:
Kasa-Obake/傘おばけ
Tanukis / たぬき / 狸
both with leaves on their heads and without u w u/ 'cause I thought it'd be cute~
Kappa / 河童 / かっぱ
couple of different versions.
floating Skulls/ghouls: inspired in part by Zelda games, these are litterally just floating skulls and some of them are on fire. I dunno that's pretty cool maan.
Ghosts:
Death and misc. spirit sprites: gave death a smaller/human-esk form that's more manageable from his boss sprite
zombie/undead animals:
possessed/magical books: includes opening animation!
Ariman: based loosely off the 2003 design, though they're probably closer to the Final Fantasy series' version
Catbear: loosely based on a monster from secret of mana
werewolf/wolfbeast: would likely be too big for a werewolf that most people want and would simply just be a big giant wolf monster instead.
Big Saber Cats: FINALLY got around to making full bodied versions of the heads for the big cats I made for Sin's trophy heads
Mimic Gate:
Behemoth: note: these do not animate. I figure they'd be better suited to use with overlapping effects:
Boss types~!
because we could always use more bosses/big sprites! I tried keeping the recolors at least somewhat interesting
Spider people:
recolors of death
Demon king recolors
God/False Prophet recolors
Dragons and Wyverns:
we got both! due to the nature of the sprites most of them, I will probably never make full sprite sheets and be single character sheets instead. Most of them are simply too big.
small wyverns, large wyverns, rideable wyvern, baby dragons, asian dragons, large dragons, recolored MV dragons, small wyvern/flying serpants
Wyverns:
larger version:
Ridable Wyvern:
Baby dragons:
baby version of the MV default dragon:
cute fat lil' dragons:
Asian serpent dragons:
upright walking dragon; kind of my take of the old RPG maker 2000 dragon both winged and wingless
Dragon Recolors:
I gave them more interesting colors based on region. Desert, tundra, volcano and ocean. (so far)
Winged serpants/small wyverns/flying snake types: these where pretty simple in design, and I know some people asked for flying snakes and serpant-esk dragons. I do want to make different kinds at some point but for now, I hope these will be sufficient enough
limbless:
limbs version:
There are some more sprites I made that aren't included in here, mostly additional animations for the animals seen here. They are not finished, but I wanted to get these out before Christmas, and I'm hoping I'll get to see some creative additions and use from the community.
I do plan on maybe getting some more animals out, but probably not for at least a week or two at the time of this posting. I've already got some animal suggestions, but I would like to hear what would be the most popular/requested from the community, and I hope this shows I can do more then just some simple tree recolors and edits lol u w o;

I know it's just other small RM devs, but it still always feels legitimizing to have folks email me in private with a steam key, requesting a review of their game. Look ma, I've made it to the big leagues. small edit: another email just came in.
time and time again I enjoy dramatic remarks on how I should find a better job.
As it stands, I go to work for 10-14 days a month. At work, I have time for my private projects. I arrive home, my mind is clear.
So yes, the pay sucks. But I have what so many lose after graduation. Freedom.
