Hello,

(First of all, I'm sorry for my probable bad english, I speak french...)

I've used RMMV for a long moment and there is something that i find very weird and not natural. The fact that every roof of houses does not exceed from the walls. An image is better than word :

Here an exemple of what i mean by "exceed the walls" :

I find this very weird and the houses are like in Minecraft :-/

And here is an exemple of more realistic and RPG-like houses (in my opinion)

And surprisingly, I've never found any tileset that fix this and make them like in the second picutre.
Is there any technical difficulty to create more realistic and natural tilesets ?

Thank you !

It's just the way they're drawn? I mean, really, that's all there is to it - whoever was hired to draw the default tiles, drew it that way.

I don't think it would effect the ground tiles to have the wall autotiles drawn with transparent space on the edges, but I could be wrong. I'd have to play with it to see.

edit: Actually, the more I think about it, that may be why - transparent area on the sides of the wall autotile may replace the ground. Therefore, it would have to be drawn to the edges of the tile.

You can make half width roof tiles using something like gimp, it would be super easy.

Oh my bad then. When I search for others tileset compatible with RPG maker mv, I always find tilesets with the same "problem" and when I want to import a tileset with a pokemon look and feel, everything is cuted off by RPG maker and I can't use it :-/

Thank you for your answers guys, I know now that I just have to learn how to import correctly self made tilesets and create the autotile feature.

(or use photoshop/gimp to add a half width roof :) )

Yeah, I tested it out. For the autotile, if there is any transparency, it will overwrite the ground tile and leave a blank space. So, that is why.

If you have a consistent area, you can create autotiles with grass or whatever ground you want on the edges, or you can put special edge building pieces with transparency in the B-E sheets.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
